Awesome Airport! Flew in for the night and pulled the plane right up to the camp site! Nice views of the runway! Gas is cheap only 5.68 a gallon. For pilots: watch out for runway 17 approach, super tight and mountain winds can be rough, and also watch out for density alt. Airport surrounded by mountains. Would totally recommend, awesome spot!

Great little campsite. Beautiful scenery right off the water. Showers, porta jons and even power to charge a phone. We’ll definitely be back.

A little gem of an airport. This place has campgrounds and is tucked away just beyond the lake.I was told if you camp you can ask for water to be hooked up for the showers. There’s port a potties available at the campsites, but the showers were so cut and we’re open air. I personally loved the benches that had the runway carved into them.Each campsite had a picnic table and a fire pit.They do a fly in here every October.

Very fun airport to fly into and out of. Good challenge. Cafe staff is amazing and food is good. Camping spot near the runway and river is cool. Showers included.

What a nice little airport cafe. We flew in and camped at the airport campground. It's a short walk to the cafe from the campground ($20/ngt). There's both inside and patio seating. The staff works their butts off to serve customers. I wouldn't say they're the most experienced though, as there were a few little hiccups, but they were hustling. I tried a breakfast burrito. It wasn't as good as I was imagining, but it did the trick. Prices seemed a little high but maybe that's just the new norm. No objections to eating here again...especially because I hear the burgers are really good.
I love coming out for breakfast on the weekends. Great people and awesome food. Fun to watch planes landing & taking off.Lots of fun.

We flew into Kern Valley Airport Cafe today and the hamburgers were perfect and made to order. We were very happy with our lunch today! I would recommend to any and all this is a great place for lunch!
