I love coming to El Lugarcito. Whenever I’m passing through King City it’s a must stop. I LOVE how it’s a family run business. I saw a review about a baby in the restaurant, yes he’s the next generation. I remember fondly growing up local restaurants playing with the owner’s kids. The food, INCREDIBLE. My favorite are the carne asada plate, Diablo shrimp, and garlic shrimp. And it is FAST. Like wow is it fast. Great service, love the food, it feels like family.

If I could leave a 10 star I would. Don’t listen to the outliers on this review section. This “little” place’s (lugarcito) food is unmatched. Some of the most amazing flavors combined together to make magic happen in your taste buds. Flexible menus that are simple and ready to go - this is a must try.

This is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever eaten!Absolutely no flavor. Hardly no beans on my tostada & what was there had no flavor. Rice had canned mixed veggies in it .. WTH???No sauce at allMy $6 tostada had more lettuce than anything else.Husbands tacos, rice & beans had no flavor either.The owners need to come to SoCal & learn what real Mexican food taste like.I stopped 2 people that were going in to eat & told them how terrible it was…. They left.

We were looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant in King City and decided to try El Lugarcito based on the good reviews we read. The food is good and fit the hankering for some yummy authentic food. It is definitely not an Americanized version of Mexican food, so everything was delicious that we ordered...a carnitas plate for my husband, which came with a lot of food, and for me the carnitas tostada, which is very affordable. The chips and tortillas are homemade and delicious. If you are looking for a chicken dish, do not come here, since there is no chicken on the menu. Also the menu does not include what you would see on an American menu, such as enchiladas, tamales and chile rellenos. Also while we are fine with diner style restaurants, and prefer them to high style fancy ones, it was turn off for my husband and I that they were playing horror movies on the big screen tvs instead of sports or something more appropriate for families. Trying to eat a tostada while watching headless people haunt cemeteries was not the kind of meal we were looking for. And because of the tiny size of the restaurant and two big tvs, it was unavoidable to look the other way. There's lots of other authentic Mexican restaurants in King City to try in the future.

After seeing the reviews I was so excited to eat lunch here. Boy was I disappointed! We ordered two shrimp plates. One tasted just like shrimp mixed with tomato sauce. The rice isn't tasty and they were over flowing with sauce the to go orders spilled everywhere. After paying and getting my receipt I noticed I was charged for 3 shrimp plates. I didn't order 3 shrimp plates. They argued with me and said two people spoke with my party and that's what we ordered. So very frustrating.

Honestly, this place impressed me. The food came out - when i say fast - I mean fast. Within 15 minutes our food had arrived to our table, the food is also made to order, hot, and super delicious. They give a generous portion for a really good price. They attended me fast and kindly. The restuarnt is quite spacious with a comfortable atmosphere.
