Bear Belly Brewing Company is an absolute gem in Kings Beach. This little nano brewery inside the Tahoe Backyard has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. They typically have about five beers on tap, and the selection rotates seasonally—IPAs, porters, lagers, and fun specialty brews that keep things interesting. Every beer is crafted with care, and you can taste it.
Inside, you’ll find a cozy, welcoming space with darts, TVs, a friendly bar, tables, and the brewery itself. Step outside and it gets even better—picnic tables, yard games, food trucks, and plenty of room to relax. They often host live music and trivia nights, which makes it an amazing gathering spot for locals and visitors alike. Dogs are welcome outside, and the whole atmosphere is casual, friendly, and very Tahoe.
Whether you’re grabbing a post-adventure beer, meeting up with friends, or looking for a laid-back community hangout, Bear Belly Brewing Company is always a great choice. Highly recommend.
Lupulin Dreams IPA - one of the best I’ve ever had !
Bear Belly is such a unique, awesome brewery. Amazing outdoor and indoor atmosphere, friendly and welcoming staff, great selection of beers. Also, locally owned and operated. Love this place!
Beer is good. Great outdoo sitting. Didn't like the music but probably because it is for different generation.
Amazing beer, friendly staff, overall great atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!
Awesome spot for casual beers!
Had a fun time here at Bear Belly. I really liked their porter beer. It was almost like a stout but not as heavy.
We came on New Year’s Day, and they welcomed us in earlier than opening. The staff was very friendly, and it’s a great place to watch big games. The owner is a passionate Oregon fan, and he is an overall great guy.
Outdoor seating is available too for those with dogs. There is disc golf outside along with a fire pit.
Great spot to grab a beer, kid and dog friendly. Large outdoor area with lots of seating. Owner was very friendly
Great little place with a delicious (if small) selection of beers. Stopped in on the way down to the beach for a beer, and the kids loved all the games while I got to enjoy a beer. You should definitely go here if you enjoy beer and/or fun, friendly people.
Terrible beer selection. IPAs and Sours. If this is your thing then this is the place for you. We had a lager, but way over hopped. Not impressed

We’ve checked out several breweries in the Tahoe area and Bear Belly was by far our favorite. The vibe is perfect. Staff were super friendly. All the beers were great. I love their, what looks like, 3-barrel system and multiple fermenters that allows them to diversify and rotate their offerings. Kid and family friendly. We went twice during our stay in Tahoe City. Not a far drive. Lots of food options in the area that you can bring in.
Just a tourist who enjoyed a beer outside, from Adirondack chairs, watching locals play disc golf.
Update 6/12/24
The owner reached out to me and was super sincere and asked me to come back. Unfortunately I am too far away to make the trek up there otherwise I totally would! It really is a great venue and area - great for families with kids, dogs, etc and they have games and a disc golf basket as well - bumping this up to 4 stars because reaching out like that means a lot to me and I would totally go back and give it another chance if I didn't live so far away.
OG review 6/8/24
Really cool venue, nice outdoor area this place would totally be 4 or 5 stars but I'm fairly certain a few of the tap lines need to be cleaned out because there was some serious funk happening in some of those beers and not the good kind...
Excellent rotating beers and chill vibes
Their Boogie Belgian DIPA is the best beer I have had in Tahoe. Their flights are the best deal in Tahoe. I highly recommend this place.
