I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken quesadilla was really good…didn’t expect much based on reviews but a lot of chicken grilled with bell peppers strips and onions. Fresh pico de gallo and guacamole was good. Chips were good, salsa just ok. We sat on the patio, great view and shade. Service was friendly and fast. I don’t think previous reviews are very fair really so give it a try.

First dinner this summer at Tahoe. We loved the top terrace ambience with a light breeze. The umbrellas made the tables cool and inviting. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, overall we had a really good dinner.

Our first order was for drinks and we asked for skinny margaritas...... instead we received drinks that tasted like they had twice the sugar!!Fortunately our server was very nice and took them back and instead the manager made us our drinks, which were then very good! We had one person who has celiac and can't have gluten but our waitress was not very familiar with what was ok for her to eat. Again the manager saved the day and had all the right info. Our last problem occurred with our meal when 4 of us received our entree but my husband didn't get his salad. After waiting several minutes we told the waitress he hadn't been served and she said she would check. She came back and said it was being made. After about 10 minutes we called her over and said to forget it, since the rest of us were almost done. She then said someone had dropped his salad on its way out of the kitchen and apologized. We always like Caliente for the upstairs deck ambiance but they really need to improve things, especially for the prices they charge.
We love going to Caliente and go most times we visit the lake since they first opened. Both of our daughters have Celiacs so must eat gluten free. This time, 3 other people in our party had Celiacs too. Up until this time they have never had a reaction and have loved their meals. Since they can't have chips (they are fried with other items with gluten) they have even been kind enough to warm up some corn tortillas for the girls to munch on before their food arrived. This time it was bad for everyone. Like really bad. With such high prices I expect better attention to not cross contamination. I realize they are not a solely gluten free restaurant but normally “nicer” restaurants can accommodate. There were a lot of likely seasonal staff that may not be educated. Their off season staff are amazing. I hope they read this and can train all their staff to properly prepare gluten free meals.

Went for dinner on 6/30/24. I ordered tacos, and my friend ordered a wet burrito. I ordered 1 carne asada and 2 shrimp tacos. They were big in appearance, but I was left hungry. They used little teeny weeny shrimp, and they had 0 seasoning on them! 0! The whole dish was flavorless as a matter of fact. The other taco with the carne asada, had a ton of fat. Also, 0 flavor/seasoning. The only thing that you could taste was the spicy mayo, which was mild. They also didn’t even have any hot sauce on the tables. For being $27, I expected it to be a lot better. Now to my friend who had the wet burrito. It was good sized, but also flavorless. And it came out basically in a soup bowl and it was full. The service was good tho. Promptly seated and the server was attentive, but that doesn’t cover up for the poor quality of the food. We are locals, and will not being coming back.

The chips, salsa, and chupacabra drinks alone are worth the drive from Reno for my husband and I. We absolutely love this place. All of their food is amazing and their outside patio offers a perfect and relaxed dining experience.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is an elevator from the 1st floor to the upstairs patio dining.
The wonderful staff and dedication to an atmosphere of excellence was only paramount to the joyful staff.
Parking: Lot behind building off of the main strip.

We stopped by for dinner. We both got the same thing because it does look good on menu. Stupid of us should have checked reviews first which we didn’t. I dont recommend this place if you are hungry and you love mexican food. And you know the flavors and taste of it.
