Stopped by here for lunch and wasn’t really impressed.. I had high hopes after reading the 5 star reviews. Spent close to $30 just for myself, the honeybird sandwich with mashed potatoes and a slice of banana cream pie and a sprite.
Honestly disliked that they ask for a tip on the screen when you still have to clean up after yourself (buss your own table), order at counter and pick up your food at another window.
The food was alright.. not outstanding. Pie was a let down, they claim to be handmade but the crust is giving cardboard taste.
Needless to say I won’t be returning or recommending..

A great place for contemporary southern style chicken, sides and desserts! Rotating selection of side dishes some of which are vegetarian. I had the chicken sandwich (amazing!) and a side of chipotle macaroni salad which was also incredible. The desserts like the banana pudding pie are also a sure thing and all portions are generous.

The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, whether you are eating in or picking up. I worked all day, so we ordered a family meal for pick up. It was everything.

Stopped here after visiting Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge. The restaurant was highly recommended on Google and only 5 minutes away from the gardens. The atmosphere was very chill, the restaurant was clean, and we were greeted upon entry. I ordered the 2 piece meal which came with two pieces of chicken (I ordered a leg and thigh) and two choices of sides (I ordered mashed potatoes and collard greens). The food was fresh, the chicken was crisp on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The mashed potatoes were delicious 😋. My only problem was the collard greens 😔; they were too sweet for my taste (I prefer my greens to be a little bitter) If it weren't for the sweet greens, I for sure would've given 5 stars as opposed to 4. I also wasn't crazy about paying $7 for two biscuits Yes, they were pretty big size and very good but it would have been nice if they came with the meal...but that's just my personal opinion. 😉 Overall, I was very satisfied and would definitely go back. 😊

Great taste, almost the best chicken I had in LA. I loved USC branch during school days and now I’ve moved here and I can also enjoy the Honeybird chicken! I feel blessed..

I eat a lot of chicken sandwiches... I mean like a lot… Like top 2% of people I know. And this spot is one of the best! Top 2 I think ever. I recommend adding hot sauce and honey to the firebird. I will be back! Also had their pecan pie, it was great!
Was with a large group, and I ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich. I’d give it 3/5 stars because the flavor was good overall, but it was a little dry and the bread was far too hard and crusty. Everyone else ordered other items and had good things to say. The sides are amazing and prices are super reasonable, and there’s a lot of seating. Overall, definitely recommend, but maybe stick to ordering something with chicken since that’s their focus.
Had the spicy chicken sandwich and the roasted veggies! So good ? will be back!

This is a really good place to eat at. Not only is the food delicious, the workers are continually keeping the place clean. They are wiping everything down and making sure everything is neat and tidy. You can tell they really care about the atmosphere and the cleanliness of the place. Mac and Cheese is very good! Chinese Chicken salad is very good (although I feel they need to put a little more chicken in it.) The only thing I didn't like was the key lime pie which was way too tart. The sweet tea tasted strange...not your typical sweet tea, but maybe that depends on ones taste. Those are things that are subject to the individual. Overall it's worth a try and I would recommend it. Staff are friendly as well. Bathroom...the waste basket was over flowing, maybe needed some hourly spot cleaning, but wasn't horrible. All in all I am still giving 5 stars.
