The food was great but the service was very slow. Our reservation was for 7:15 but we didn't finish until 9:45 and that was with having to take the dessert to go.

5 course tasting menu for NYE started out great. Staff was maxed out and we missed an intermezzo course. Service was slow. I had the most disappointing lobster entree that was barely 4 bites . Desserts and earlier courses were great tho . Staff was nice but completely maxed out and seemed overwhelmed. A bit disappointing for a bill (with drinks ) for over $500. We are guests at the hotel and were celebrating NYE for the first time. Fabulous ambience but timing and quality of the entrees need work.

We had a wonderful meal last night with outstanding food, as always! Our meal was made even better by the amazing service provided by Kasha. She was so knowledgeable about all the food and wine, but what stood out the most was her personality. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars because she deserves 100! She was fun and funny and matched the energy of our company. It was such a pleasure to meet her and she made an already wonderful evening even more magical. We look forward to dining here again in the New Year!

The atmosphere is one of old world golf club lounge - not surprising. A bit staid - but the outdoor deck looks awesome ! My scallops were wonderful. Wine choice was great. Enjoyed a pear salad. The little gluten free cornbread inspired starter surprise was delicious. We will return. Finally - the service was friendly, knowledgeable, and appropriately attentive.

The atmosphere is serene and elegant, perfect for a fine-dining evening, and our server was both warm and impressively knowledgeable, especially when it came to wine. As someone with a gluten allergy, I was truly grateful for how thoughtfully the menu is crafted. Most dishes are naturally gluten-free, yet you would never know from the flavors or presentation. I was able to enjoy a full meal without skipping a single course, which is rare and so appreciated.

We hadn't been to AR Valentein in a few years, and we preferred the previous menu with what we recall was a bigger selection from which to choose. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. He appeared to be managing a lot of busy tables, for example the busser finally took our credit card. Dinner for two with a drink each and one appetizer was $250, very pricey. We've dined at other fine dining restaurants in San Diego and elsewhere and felt this did not offer the premium experience we expected for the cost.

My girlfriend and I came for a staycation and was introduced to this place by the concierge. Our experience was fantastic and that's what it was an experience! The staff was so attentive and kind, as well as knowledgeable. The cuisine was absolutely delightful, i enjoyed a beautifully cooked rib eye, they also make the most amazing biscuits to die for... Thank you for a lovely evening of fine dining.
