You have to experience AR Valentien at least once. So charming, especially on the patio, looking over TP golf course and the ocean. Awesome. Food was great, my steak was a little tough and not as good as the typical superb food at this restaurant. Overall just love it and will go back when I need another dose. Staff really helpful, friendly and engaging. All good!

Came post renovation-looks similar to before: prices slightly higher and portions smaller. Smaller bread service. However quality of food is very good. Other waiters were great, ours was not warm. Overall we love the lodge and this place has a special place in our heart but it a rare occasion or for out of town folks.

First the lobby of the Lodge absolutely knocks you out with its craftsmanship, the grand doors, the massive fireplace, the incredible view. You enter the restaurant through the very clubby bar or down the carpeted hallway lined with its own gallery of western landscape paintings. All this as preamble to one of the finest dining experiences you will ever have in Southern California. The ambience, the quiet, the comfort, the selection, the service. The food!

A nice, conservative dining experience for a special occasion. I had the duck which did not meet my expectations 5 years ago but this year it redeemed itself. My son's Kanpachi was flavorful in a delightful broth with crispy skin and my husband's halibut was also moist and tender. My only disappointment was the portion size. They were small and left us wanting for more.

This was easily one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. When you arrive, valet parking is complimentary. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and a covered patio with a beautiful view of the golf course and hotel pool. We started with an excellent martini, and for my first course I had the melon and burrata salad with pecans. It was hands down the best salad I've ever had, so fresh and flavorful. For my main course, I ordered the grilled coulotte steak, which was phenomenal. It came with a side salad that was simple and not my favorite, but still decent. At the end, they surprised us with a complimentary chocolate treat for dessert. Our server was attentive throughout the meal, gave great recommendations, and made the experience even better. I'd recommend this place 100%.

Our second time there this summer. The outdoor terrace is so lovely. The ambience food and service is exceptional. It feels like a vacation dining experience. We brought our beautiful little dog. The staff treated him so well , it made us feel very special . Staff is a 10 out of 10 regarding knowledge of food related items and attention to detail. . Great overall dining experience, highly recommended it

What is not to love about having dinner on a golf course? That was a week night and the other guests were quiet, the sunset was perfect too... The service and the food were excellent: The duck pate is good but not rich and fatty so you can splurge even if you watch your numbers. Lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and with only 3 lamb chops in the rack, they were surprisingly big and meaty. The fat was trimmed and the vegetable pairing was well thought of and elaborate. With dinner, you will also get an amuse bouche, bread service (restaurant made biscuits) and "mignardises". Greatness doesn't come that cheap but I ate so well that I am ready to indulge again and again for special occasions or just for celebrating life! Truly recommended.

Same Outstanding service and food. We are thrilled that AR Valentien has reopened after it's refresh. Same gorgeous and serene location overlooking the Torrey Pines golf course, resort property & ocean. And the food is still absolutely outstanding.

Another great meal! We went to brunch today and it was excellent. We had the corn and lobster soup which was amazing. We also had the halibut and the chicken salad sandwich and both were very good. The quality keeps up time after time and the setting is classy and upscale.
