Can't say enough about the food, views, and our server Ryan. He made a great experience fantastic. If only all restaurants had Ryan's.Every little detail was there including soft salted butter for the bread, good patios heaters, and great food and drink suggestions from our server.

One of the best restaurants around. Just superior in all aspects. Food wonderful. Menu inventive. Staff attentive and very friendly. Views are spectacular. Never had a subpar experience here. Always reliably excellent.

Had my birthday dinner there. We also went at thanksgiving 2023. It is a wonderful restaurant with great food, service, wine list, sommelier. The staff is very friendly. Awesome views. Below are views from our outdoor table at thanksgiving.

Sitting on the deck with the heater next to me on a rainy Sunday morning looking out over the Torrey Pines Golf course drinking several cups of hot, steaming coffee could not have been a more perfect way to start the day! My husband and I each started out with a warmed almond (house-made) croissant (superb!!), and then followed that with an order each of smoked fish (I believe it was trout) and smashed avocado toast. Absolutely delicious! The "Starter" potion of trout was generous, the fish moist, and the combination could not have been more tasty! Our server Ryan was absolutely TOP NOTCH, as was the overall ambience. Dining at AR Valentien's is always a treat!

Convenient location, accessible parking, welcoming staff, very good service, and delicious food. Pretty ambience, quiet to enjoy a conversation. I recommend this restaurant for north coastal area of San Diego.

I enjoyed coming here for lunch with my parents. I don't often dine at fancy restaurants, so I don't have much to compare to, but overall it was really great — I went with the mussels dish which was incredible. The service was on point. Everything about it was a good experience. The weather was good, and parking was a little tricky because there were so many golfers on that Friday mid-day time.

We love to dine here. We normally do so 5 or 6 times per year. Last night was a little disappointing. After being seated, we were asked by 3 different people for our drink order. I was served the wrong appetizer (which the server graciously comped) and the main dishes were not as attractive as normal. Sloppy plating. The lamb was fatty and cut irregularly. I hope this was just an off night.

Excellent meal and experience. I was hesitant after reading some negative reviews but decided to try this restaurant for my wife's birthday. We were very happy with the whole experience. The food was delicious, and the ambient and service were terrific. The menu featured a number of interesting dishes and locally sourced food. The was a splurge for us for a birthday but well worth it.

Our dinner experience was amazing!! It was my daughters 30th birthday and everyone made it memorable from her name on the menu to the terrific service and the fun desert with writing happy birthday on it! The food was all outstanding and just the ambiance of the restaurant makes you feel like you are special and they want you to enjoy your evening! Outstanding!!

Absolutely wonderful. Morgan was our server and she gave excellent service. You can tell all of the staff is very knowledgeable of everything and the chefs are very skilled. Highly recommend for a special event or just a nice date night.

“Enjoyed an exceptional service experience at this lovely dining spot, which strikes a charming balance between elegance and the casual ambiance of its golf course setting. While the dress code leans towards business smart, the variety of attire, from golf casual to dressy, adds a unique touch to the atmosphere. The California lamb chops, though tender, were notably fatty, which may not appeal to all tastes. The side dish, while flavorful, was somewhat dominated by garlic, potentially overshadowing its other elements. The Sea Bass, despite being fresh and well-complemented by a delightful sauce, had a noticeable smell that detracted from the overall enjoyment. Appetizers like the quail and cauliflower were on the milder side flavor-wise, which seemed to align with the broader customer demographic's preferences. Despite these culinary nuances, the overall dining experience remains highly recommendable for its exceptional service and the enjoyable environment. A visit here promises a mix of culinary experiences in a setting that caters to a variety of tastes and occasions, from casual gatherings to more formal outings.”

As always an amazing lunch experience! This is my wife's and I special place. We are always pleased with the new items on the menu. We have never had a bad experience. Everything is always better than expected!

We celebrated Valentine's Day early due to another engagement and had a wonderful dinner on the outdoor patio under heaters that kept us quite warm. Paté and a citrus salad made fine appetizers and our entrees were excellent: nicely- caramelized scallops and a perfectly done ribeye. We shared a delicious walnut honey cake for dessert. Add in a bottle of wine and nice touches such as an amuse bouche, and sweets at the end, and the meal was memorable.
