6/26/25 Lots of staples and specialities from Russia, etc. It's fun to go in to try new (to me) foods. One customer claimed they have the best liver and onions around and I was almost tempted to try it. Helpful ladies. There is a charge to use the credit card machine, I use cash. Bring your own bag.
There are two tables and chairs directly outside. There was more seating to the left and right.
Updated: Upon entering, you get a ticket that you can scan for a one hour validation, *so remember to ask!* The parking lot can get full. There is a bathroom with a code in the building next door to the liquor shop.

I've never liked this store just because of the salespeople. It feels like they hate everyone, including their own job. No matter what you ask them, they always respond rudely, and their expressions make you want to run away as soon as possible. Especially the short blonde with glasses and a short haircut.

Some really excellent rye bread which I believe they bake themselves in-house? Seriously going to miss this place when I move out of the area, it's become my go to for the bread. Also, good selection of Armenian products (jams/preserves/spreads)

Continent Deli is hands down one of the best Dubai chocolate it is so fresh so good, and high-quality!
Their menu is packed with international deli options that cater to all tastes. Whether you're in the mood for a classic sandwich, a hearty salad, or something more unique.
Some items that I found were german bologna, polish sausage, caviar and farmers cheese!!
I highly recommend stopping by Continent Deli in La Jolla

š”"Soviet Quality" sign over the salad bar? Seriously? I'm guessing you missed the part where "Soviet quality" meant mass starvation for Ukrainians. That's not quirky, it's offensive.
And labeling Olivye salad "russian"? In this climate? Are you actively trying to be tone-deaf? That's not "cultural appreciation," it's a giant middle finger.
Clean it up, ditch the Soviet nostalgia, and maybe, just maybe, learn some basic respect. This isn't a museum for outdated regimes; it's a grocery store. Act like it!

I have brought my 96 year-old grandmother here for the last time today. After several trips here, I am appalled by the rudeness of the women that work here. Ladies, you are not in Eastern Europe anymore. Itās OK to smile and be courteous! This is what we do in America! We show appreciation to our customers and be friendly!
I asked for a chair for my grandmother to sit in while we shop because standing for long periods is hard for her. She couldāve simply walked outside and brought a lightweight chair in for her rather, she looked at us (with my grandmother about to fall) and said we donāt have chairs. We will find a different, friendly deli and never spend 1 dime there again!

FOOD SAFETY ALERT!!!
I bought some products from this store and was very disappointed. The packagings of cookies and bread donāt have a manufacturing date, so I couldnāt check if the items are fresh. When I opened a pack of cookies, it had mold (MOLD!!!) on it. This is unacceptable. I didnāt even bother opening the other products I bought.
The store needs to improve quality control and add proper labels to products. I wonāt shop here again.

I stopped by this place while visiting San Diego. They have so many European products, the choices are endless! I picked up some birds milk, polish sausage and some fresh piroshkis. Everything was so delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

So far so good
They purposely don't put any price tags on most of the items, so when you go to pay for it they can give a random price.
I came here to buy the same pastries which I bought two days ago for $8 something. Today when I bought same pastries they charged me $17 something. I was very confused and when asked them about the reason they just returned me less than a dollar and told me that that this is the real price of this item. Very frustrating experience.

We came here to try some snacks and they tried to scam/steal from us by adding an extra $14.99 charge for something that we did not purchase (the ākulichā on the receipt pictured below). I watched the woman checking us out scan a random barcode to add the charge but didnāt think anything of it in the moment. After looking at the receipt on our way out, we realized this and went back in to ask them about it, and they acted confused. They ended up giving me $10 back in cash even though I originally paid with card. Do not give your business to these greedy thieves.

We came before and liked everything there! The last time we went with Alpine specifically to this store... before we even had time to enter, we were greeted by someone who seemed like the owner or the director, why are you filming with a camera, and in a high tone (and I was filming myself) before that we were filming nothing, no one I said, if you canāt shoot there, you could have said it adequately! And in general, do not remove the writing on the door! Now is the time of Internet telephones, you never know why anyone is filming people, they werenāt filming! And it wouldnāt hurt to say hello! You live in America, havenāt you been taught how to socialize here? Then she ran into my American mother and started looking at her phone! What did she show that she was sending to her son, what a shame for our Slavic mentality that they show! Horror ! Before that, the saleswomen there werenāt very good, but after that itās not like that at all! Rudes and boors! And theyāve never asked to warm up your pies, or theyāve never given you napkins at all, but the last time they asked and they gave you one! I'm still not very impressed!
