El Charro Mexican Food

Best burrito of my entire life. The carnitas was good but the tortilla was transformative. I will be back.

If you go to El Charro for one thing, make it the carne asada fries. They are absolutely incredible. The meat is tender and has so much flavor, the fries are crispy, and the toppings are fresh and delicious. Fast, friendly service and huge portions make this a five star experience. I’ll be back for more.

They got the order wrong and they didn’t refund it and told us to buy a new one, horrible service, the lady that took the order at the front was extremely rude… UNACCEPTABLE!

Surf and turf burrito? More like extra lettuce and cold cheese. I got 3 little strips of steak and ONE shrimp. Lady in the front taking orders was rude too.

Food came out quickly. Man at the cashier was very kind and nice to talk to. Food came out quickly in greatly sized portions. Food was amazing and would definitely eat there again.

As a family, we could not decide where to eat our first day in La Jolla. We settled on eating here and we returned every day of our trip. The portion sizes are fantastic, the food was delicious and the staff were friendly. We sometimes had to wait for our food depending on how many people were working, but it was well worth it. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area. It will be our first stop if we are ever in La Jolla again.

Took an hour to make our food. Waited that long for a bland, mediocre wet burrito in a very inconvenient box. Go to don carlos instead

I ordered California burrito with chicken and veggies and cream and got instead burrito with beef without any veggies 🥲 my boyfriend got his order right tho …

I got a bad-but-edible surf and turf burrito here. Then I had food poisoning all week :/. If I have to go back here, I’d stick to the bean and cheese burritos, or quesadillas — harder to mess those up

Everything you could want after being out on the waves. Awesome food, conversational customer service that makes you feel right at home. The surf and turf burrito was to die for. Highly recommend!
