This our local go to Chinese restaurant in La Jolla. Sure it’s convenient, right up the street, but it very tasty and always consistent. I get takeout once once a week and I have never been disappointed. The egg rolls are crispy and tender, Kung Pao chicken is cooked perfect and has just the right amount of heat and my favorite is the broccoli and beef. I just love it. The staff is friendly the food is always waiting for me to pick it up and is piping hot when I walk down the hill to my place to eat it. Good job Mandarin House!

Just had an awesome meal at Mandarin House in La Jolla. Super flavorful, classic Chinese dishes done right everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. The whole vibe was relaxed but still felt special. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving solid Chinese food in the area. Also an amazing event space known for hosting birthdays, anniversaries, or anything celebratory!

Every time I stop by Mandarin House, the classics never fail. Lucky fried rice, Mandarin fried rice, war wonton soup, egg drop soup, lo mein, honey walnut shrimp, shrimp kew each dish hits just right. I’ll always come back and happily rotate through this amazing menu. It’s its own vibe and one I can’t get enough of!

We odered take-out - Chicken fried rice, Chicken lo mein, crab rangoon, 2 orders of wonton soup. Service was fast. Everything was bland and wontons were not good at all. The chef that day does NOT know how to cook Chinese food. So disappointing. Not sure I will return. The following week, I decided to go to Chin's Szechwan in Pearl St. What a difference in taste! Real authentic Chinese cooking. Chin's is now my go to Chinese Restaurant.

We come here often and we’ve actually been coming to this restaurant since it was by Balboa Park. It’s about time I write them a review. Today we got the walnut shrimp and cashew chicken and they’re both amazing like always. The shrimp is cooked to perfection, not at all over done.
If you haven’t tried this restaurant, please do. The service and decor are also on point.

Gotta be some of the worst chinese food I have ever had tbh. Overcooked, unoriginal and just disappointing. None of my family could finish any of the food we ordered. Waste of our time and money.

We've been going to Manadarin House for special occasions for 28 years. First at the Banker's Hill location and later at the La Jolla location. We've never had anything but great food and stellar service. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. You'll be happy with the visit.

Food was just to bland. I'm from New York and Florida. The food had no flavor. Orange chicken small pcs and shrimps in lobster sauce ,nothing like back east. One dish fish in a white garlic sauce was just okay. No seasoning on the tables ,salt would have helped.
