A group of five of us went in October 2023. The theme was based on Edgar Allen Poe. WE LOVED IT. The decor, the food, the table set-up, the service, the show....we still talk about it. We plan to make this an annual dinner/show tradition every year.

I have to say that I was really surprised I knew that the magic would be first rate because it always is but I've never eaten there before and we were blown away by the quality and the freshness of the food The menu wasn't ginormous but it didn't need to be. Very entertaining I can't recommend it highly

I’ve been a few times and every time the magic has been incredible! That being said you have to prepare yourself for cheesy night and a long dinner. They added some more menu items and this time I had the scallops which were good and but the prime rib is very rare and not that flavorful. The mushroom bourguignon was good. The salad was nice and I liked the strawberry shortcake dessert. The dinner is about 615-745 then the magic is about an hour. The magic was amazing this time as it always has been. It’s just a very intimate setting which can be great, or if there’s some weirdos it can be a bit awkward. Very fun to go as a group and it would be great to buy the whole place out.

So I don’t want to make this a bad review by any means, but more of something to set your expectations; So we came here for my sons birthday and assumed/expected more of an interactive experience throughout the dinner. That is not the case, nor did the restaurant set that expectation (so please read their website carefully). The food was meh, beer and wine served only and not included in meal price, the service team is EXCELLENT (seriously hats off), but the way this whole thing works is you spend 60-90 minutes being served a five course meal, and then when the dessert is finished a magician comes out to interact with the audience for about 20 minutes… It all feels like a cheap version of the magic castle. My son (12) and I ended up leaving before the magic happened because he was bored. So I can’t say how good the magic was, but from the other guests we were with it wasn’t overly amazing. It would be better if they had things happening throughout the dinner, an animated mirror or some gags along the way would break things up a bit and go a long way.

Very fun experience. The food was very tasty and unique and gave us a grand dinning experience. The magic show was very entertaining as well and our magician did a great job at keeping us laughing and smiling the whole time. Its a bit pricey at around 150 per person up definetely a great treat for birthdays or other celebrations.

We had a fantastic experience: a five course gourmet meal and an excellent magician/illusionist. The food was outstanding and the team at Mystique was gracious, friendly and helpful and the ambience and decor are memorable. Really looking forward to returning.

My brothers brought me here for my birthday, and I have Celiac. Mystique took every precaution, and I was able to enjoy the food and show without a care. It was wonderful!Dietary restrictions: All of my options were Gluten free, so I didn’t have to miss out on anything.

My wife recently received a gift certificate for an evening of dining and magic at Mystique. We had not heard of this place, so after figuring out an evening that worked, we made reservations. Interesting note - when you make your reservations, you also choose your main course (the rest is somewhat of a fixed menu, with a few possible upgrades). Standard menu fare was prime rib (I'm definitely a carnivore, but do like my meat not to moo back at me), gourmet macaroni and cheese (there is simply no such thing), chicken cordon bleu, cioppino, and vegan. My wife agreed that the only choice that jumped out was the chicken cordon bleu, so I ordered that for both of us.We arrived, and were seated quickly at the rather ostentatious dining room, where we ordered some wine to enjoy, and rather quickly, our first course arrived - a nicely arranged salad. We quickly moved through the courses, and when the main course arrived, both of us were pleasantly surprised - this was easily the best cordon bleu either one of us had ever had. After dining, the featured magician began his show. I studied magic for about ten years, so know many of the subtle tricks that magicians use for misdirection. And I have to say, this guy was pretty good. I caught a few of his slight of hand moves, but quite a few, I was completely baffled. That's a good thing!Overall, this was a great experience - and absolutely worth an evening of dining and magic.

Going here was a birthday gift from my husband. I had no clue. From the moment you enter the ambiance is so gothic, right up my alley. You check in and the bartender offers you a drink. Alcohol is additional. Drive was great. Always prompt and the "waitstaff" always in character and friendly. Food was really good. Would've given another star if we would've known we could take leftovers. Our plates were just taken, with mine having half of a prime rib left. The show was really great! Very intuitive and intriguing.

Fun, interactive, and different! We arrived early to have pre-dinner drinks (beer and wine, no hard alcohol avail), and were very warmly greeted by Jill, our hostess for the evening. They have great beer and wine choices.Jill was amazing all night, give the lady a raise. I'm not kidding. The decor and atmosphere was amazing! True to concept, very well done. I don't want to give up too much so you all are surprised!Dinner was A+We were welcomed with a mouth watering starter of bacon wrapped dates that everyone raved about.Followed by a healthy salad portion that was well balanced. Then they served a pallet cleanser of sorbet that was delicious! We both had prime rib, md rare with veggies and mashed potatoes. A little on the rate side and a bit fatty, but overall the prime rib was delicious and we would def order again. We also had the shrimp cocktail add on which was super cold, fresh, and the cocktail sauce was perfect. We ordered 2 and it was too much food so we shared with the table. That brings me to the other diners. They were all friendly, happy, and fun. It is super important to mix with the others, it adds to the experience. Our magician, Krystyn Lambert was amazing!!!!!!! Excellent story telling with surprising and unexplainable magic. She was warm and friendly, professional and FUN!Highly recommend!!!

I've been to Mystique in San Diego and Folsom. This was my first time at La Jolla. Service was kind but forgettful...never got our cocktails after our meal to enjoy with the show. Manifestations by mentalist Krystyn Lambert was awful. Her performance was vague and unimpressive as if she was just guessing. The hologram Poe poetry readings between courses was like being in drama class detention in high school...unbearable. Compared to other Mystic Dining experiences, this was by far the worst. Not impressed at all, and an embarrassing date night.Parking: Had to search around town for parking.

My husband and I came for his birthday and saw Krystyn Lambert. You are fed a 5 course dinner & EVERYTHING was delicious! You eat first and then the show follows. Krystyn had the entire audience in disbelief. It was such a great experience and we will definitely be back. The only downfall was the restrooms are out the door and around the corner but not like a 30 sec walk, other than that everything was perfect.
