Osteria Romantica

We all enjoyed our experience so much, from the food and service to the location and offers. We had wanted a good last dinner on our last day of vacation. This was perfect!

The food was very good, as always. However, it is worth noting that in making the reservation I noted that it was my birthday. I also called it to the attention of the waiter when he began service. I was quite disappointed that no special offer (complimentary dessert) was made.

Every thing was very tasty , the home made pasta was delicious .. good service - authentic Italian choices. A couple of food issues could be addressed; the chicken substituted for the veal piccata was very dry and tough . The bread served before dinner was also dry and cold , not warm and crunchy. It was not the usual crusty warm Italian bread we are used to in good Italian restaurants , and they didn't not serve it with olive oil , salt / pepper, we had to request it . Also the olive oil would be good if it was seasoned with garlic or if a dry seasoning was offered to season it . A very easy option . We had to ask for the salt and pepper for the bland olive oil. Small things can make a big difference !

We have been to Osteria Romantica on several occasions, the not for a couple of years. We remembered the restaurant fondly, it did not disappoint. We opted for alfresco dining, which gave a nice view of a colorful sunset. The classic Italian menu has many great options. The calamari was perfect. The cioppino was perfectly sauced, a smaller portion than some locations do, but appropriate for the reasonable $29 price. The Bolognese pasta that my wife had was delicious and classic. Service was professional, attentive, and humorous. This is a fun, classic Italian eatery in a great location. Only caveat is that getting into La Jolla Shores, and parking on popular evenings can be a challenge, and it's a popular spot so you'll want reservations. 

A fabulous dinner, as always! Great food, authentically made and a great, reasonably priced wine list. A must visit when I am in San Diego!

Brought my mom and brother with my husband and son this time. This was my mom and brother's first time dining here. The waiter was very good, patient and suggested good dishes for us. He didn't rush us but also got the dishes out in reasonable time, pretty amazing. We all loved our meals (cioppino, artichokes, penne, lamb and fish), can't forget the caesar salad and calamari. We always come back when in San Diego.

The food is always great. We've dine here a number of times over the year's and have always enjoyed it. The only negative I would like to mention is the poor selection of bread at the table. I always like a good bread to start my meal but esp more importantly to enjoy it with my pasta at a good Italian restaurant. I would like to suggest a new bread vendor to match the tasty pasta dishes Osteria Romantica always offers. See you again soon.

We love eating here! We make a point of eating here when we're in town. Very good food and service.

Pretty sure our server didn't care if we lived or died. Is the poor service a constant in California? Had to ask about the specials, server sat us directly in the sun when there were other tables available, never checked on us once our food was delivered. Food was great but the service makes me never want to come back again.

Authentic Italian restaurant. Food quality and preparation was excellent. Good menu with many good choices. Wonderful ambiance. Service was absolutely excellent (waiter Simone), and made our dinner especially memorable. We will return, both for the fantastic food and for Simone.

Osteria Romantica is one of me favorites and we return to it often. Everything is good but I'll mention the braised artichokes which are fantastic! So are the people.

In admittedly authentic Italian style, the service was very slow.

The food was decent, but our whole party had stomach trouble for the rest of the night.

We've visited a few times before, and were looking forward to returning. But how great is it to be so pleasantly surprised by everything! Outstanding service, ambiance, and especially the food. We are always heavy on the seafood, and these guys rock in that area. A special shout out to the woman who was bartending that night too. Didn't get her name, but she was super classy, made great cocktails, and was always busy, even polishing the glassware when there wasn't a drink to pour; love this place!

I love this place! It's always good and I always have a great time.

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here! The service was great and they were so kind to our 5 month old who came with us to dinner. We loved the burrata, mushroom ravioli, and pappardelle with braised lamb. Our server was so kind he even gave us a shot of limoncello after our dessert. Would recommend and would definitely go back!
