I LOVE Paru’s matcha powder! I get the premium grade in the white bag and when I tell you no other matcha powder I have had compares. It is such great quality I don’t even need to use as much and it lasts me longer. Just look at that color!! It is pricey ($40+ I think) but it is worth it. They also have so many great loose leaf teas and tea making tools. Great place to get gifts for a tea lover that they will have for a lifetime!
They do not make matcha drinks!! This is not a coffee/tea shop!!! Every time I go in someone asks for made drinks which they have not done for awhile.

My friend and I ended up chatting with the owner, Amy, and learned she travels all around Asia to find the highest quality of tea to source herself. Then brings it back for others to experience. She's extremely friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about various types of tea. What sets PARU apart from other shops is the amount of effort put into getting these teas, along with the amazing stories that come with them. Definitely worth stopping by!

Paru is not only the best place to purchase your teas and matcha powder, but it has outstanding customer service as well! I have subscribed to their monthly matcha service for more than a year now and it has been a wonderful experience! My matcha has always been on time and I never run out monthly. Unfortunately, I had one of my packages stolen from my (locked) mailbox recently. I was truly shocked; this had never happened before, and I did not know what to do. I contacted Paru’s support team, and Stephanie was so helpful and friendly! She informed me to contact USPS regarding the issue and if USPS could not recover my package, then to contact them again and they will help me. Sadly, USPS confirmed that my package was stolen (apparently there have been some mailbox break-ins around my location lately) and cannot further assist me in this situation. Stephanie was very understanding and provided different options to ensure my next package would be safely delivered to my door. I just received my new matcha package and I am so grateful they made this situation painless. I will forever be their customer; I cannot recommend them enough! Please support their business, they are the best!

Friendly staff and love their matcha powder! So many unique tea selections too! We got the ceremonial matcha powder for $45 and the experimental matcha powder they have too which we loved and want to go back for more. I do wish I could have a sample of the tea before spending quite a bit on it but I get that with minimal staff and additional work/costs involved it wouldn’t be ideal.
The machine to mill the tea was out when we visited so I’m hoping to go back and get the house milled matcha. We definitely think their grade of matcha is totally worth it and will be going back :)

Oh wow, this place is just so lovely :) Swung by this morning for the first time and walked out with six bags (oops!) In that timespan I’ve already brewed a few cups as I cannot get enough. Truly such a high quality tea. The women behind the counter were also so helpful in explaining the profiles for the teas I was interested and gave me lots of recommendations and suggestions as to how to prepare. Paru is truly a gem - do yourself a favor and stop by :)
