Amazing coffee. I ordered two hot blacks, I didn’t tip because two coffees for $12 was shocking and it’s a very simple order. My bad apparently. The lids were handed to me separately from the to-go cups for me to put on myself. It seemed odd.

A little concerning when staff are a little rude when someone ask for the bathroom code I also saw an employee taking out the trash return the can and then right to food and drinks without washing their hands …

I love how they brew each cup individually and let you customize it to your taste. My go-to is iced mint mojito ~ refreshing and perfectly balanced. The staff is always friendly. If you're a coffee lover, Philz is definitely worth to try.

I have visited Philz Coffee a couple of times and while the coffee is pretty good, the customer service leaves a bit to be desired. The first instance of this issue occurred about one week ago when a woman taking my order did not appear to be working cashier duties and seemed a bit perturbed that she had to wait on me. She kept glaring over at another girl and was not focused on taking my order. I was put off and told the manager who apologized. I just returned today and there was no greeting and no acknowledgment of my presence entering at a low customer volume timeframe. I waited by the register and could see all the women and one man working around the coffee issue area carrying on in conversation and would occasionally stroll near me to get a muffin but was too involved in a conversation to notice me. I waited a bit, and I decided to walk over and ask if anyone was working the register and a lady spoke up stating she would help me. She was then overly enthusiastic to the point of sarcasm. A simple apology for the oversight would have sufficed. For the price, proper training, and management should ensure a proper greeting and prompt service at the register. I am disappointed and do not plan to return.
I went in for a last minute coffee since I was doing overnight inventory for another store in the mall. I went in and the cashier was very dismissive when I said I was picking up an order and sent me to the pick up area (mind you I didn’t know where to go since it was my FIRST TIME going to a Philz coffee). I went over to the pick up area and there were two people there, one was cleaning the machines facing me and the other was making some coffees. Neither one greeted me or spoke a word to me. I just waited to see if my coffees were the ones being made. After a couple minutes they called out my name I picked up my coffee said thank you and left. I had always heard their coffee was amazing and customer service was great… Not at all my experience so I won’t be going back. No smiles no greeting nothing

Place is set up for solo/laptop diners indoor. Basically long rows of electrical outlets. Patio available for meet ups. Day I went it was too cold and windy to sit outside. Walked out and went to another coffee shop. Heavy traffic jam getting out of parking lot.

Best coffee I’ve ever tasted! The interior of the cafe is cute and the staff is very friendly. I tried the rose coffee and honey haze and was sad when my cup went empty lol. If you’re around La Jolla I definitely recommend checking this place out.

A unique and quirky coffee shop with killer drinks. The vibe inside is very relaxed. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Great service for a coffee chain. You pick your drink, how creamy and sweet you want it. There are tons of options. Ranging from typical coffee shop to unique drinks. My favorite coffee chain. Well worth the stop.
