Food is really poor quality…marinades and salad dressings use grape seed oil the poorest quality oil…why not pure olive oils? I live in the Shores and I try to give this this place the benefit because I love the people that work here but the quality of the food prep and final product is bad. Trey, are you listening?

Meal was great top to bottom. Really great attention to detail in all of the dishes. An excellent experience overall, which was somewhat surprising given how touristy this area can be.

Had a wonderful time here. We were in SD for 5 days and came here twice for dinner because it was so good. All the food was fantastic, great craft beer, and amazing service. Coming from NYC, a lot of the restaurants in the area has very subpar service, but the servers at Sandpiper went above and beyond! Our first night, our server I believe his name was Jake, absolutely made our night. Thank you!

Amazing food!! Everything we ordered was so good. We had an 8pm dinner but there was a great vibe and decent amount of other people for a late dinner. The flavors were amazing. I ordered the fettucini with clams, which had a slightly spicy oil based sauce with flavors I had never had before. We ordered the sauteed carrots which were delicious with such great flavor. Also ordered the tout and beet salad. 100% would go back.

I recently dined at Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters for brunch, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend trying their smash burger, which was incredibly flavorful and satisfying, perfect for a brunch indulgence. The crispy Brussels sprouts were also a highlight, offering a crunchy and savory complement to the meal. What impressed me the most was the efficiency of the service—I was seated quickly, and the food arrived promptly, allowing me to enjoy every bite without waiting long. The servers were attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. Sandpiper Wood Fired Grill & Oysters is definitely a place I'll be returning to for another fantastic dining experience.
I can’t believe I haven’t shared a review for this place yet - maybe I want to keep it away from the masses but the food is just so damn good I can’t gate keep anymore. I’m not vegetarian but the veggies dishes are a 10/10. I’ve been here several times now and the thought behind every dish tantalizes your senses. Something simple like the corn bread is executed to perfection. With that said, save room for dessert and check them out - they’re menu changes seasonally… oh and the service and ambiance are great too. My hat off to the kitchen

We have been here twice. And has become one of our favorite spots. We have been lucky enough to show up during happy hour. And enjoyed oysters , fish tacos and drinks. I just wish they added more sauce to the fish tacos. Next time I will request it.

WOW! The food was amazing! I went there for happy hour. I had the chips and salsa appetizer & the chips were different but in a really good way! Way better than the normal chips you eat at other restaurants! I had their signature burger and fries and a fish taco it was soooo good! I typically won't eat fried fish tacos but I was VERY good! One of the best burgers I've had in SD! Our server was very friendly, professional and helpful with turning on the outside heaters & when trying to decide what to order since this was my first time there! I will def go back!

Did someone say HAPPY HOUR & FISH TACOS??My hubby loves the oysters, food has amazing flavor not too salty. Our server Jake was friendly and recommended the chef's favorites. Can't wait to go back and try the aguachiles. Looking forward to my next girl's night here!

We started with oysters, small and pricy but excellent fresh flavor. Then we had carrots, broccoli, Brussel sprouts and fries. All were over cooked and really salty. After we had the mussels with a tom kha broth. Tom kha is Thai and traditionally not spicy. I asked if they were spicy and was told just a little but the spice was in the sauce already and could not be eliminated. A smaller than usual portion arrived. There were droppings of chili oil which was certainly done after plating. There were also little droppings of some sort of Chile which we managed to avoid. After I was told that it was Sichuan pepper. So much for honoring the tastes of a client. We also had baked mezzo , meh. and pappardelle. The worst thing was the huge TVs over the bar which were on super loud. If I had known about that I never would have gone there.

We had a fantastic group dinner here. The food and service were both outstanding. I had the scallops as my main dish (pictured). We all shared the brussel sprouts, carrots, and rolls and they were all delicious.
