Spiro's Mediterranean Cuisine

Went to Spiro's twice, once about a year ago and once today. The first time we went it was very good, had an inviting atmosphere and the food was tasty. Compared to today there are noticeable changes. The service was not as welcoming or helpful and the food was not nearly as good. I had the chicken kebab pita, which was drowned in sauce and had maybe 5 pieces of chicken. It was very underwhelming. However, the lamb and beef gyro was delicious and came with plenty of meat. I do appreciate how they have free water and a clean bathroom. I feel like today was an off day and Spiro's is hit or miss or the quality has declined over the past year. Overall, I would still recommend it for a Mediterranean lunch if you are in La Jolla, but generally there are better options nearby.

This was sooooo good! We come to La Jolla all the time and I don’t know why we didn’t eat at this restaurant sooner. We have walked by it a million times and finally tried it! The food was incredible- we had the chicken skewer platter and gyro fries. The chicken and meat were very good, the pilaf was delicious, salad, veggies, tzatziki and hummus too- all 10/10. Highly recommend this place, we also sat outside by the fire and it was super warm. Service was fast and the atmosphere was great, not too busy for Friday night. The prices are great for the portion of food you get.

A nice little place in LaJolla with delicious Mediterranean dishes. We were unsure about a few items on the menu and the young man who took our order was so nice and took time to explain them to us. We all loved the falafel pita!! Definitely would come back here again.

Good choice

Recommended dishes: Lamb-Beef Gyro Platter

My friend and I split the gyro platter (beef and lamb). Had a good amount of meat (crispy) with a good amount of fries and pita bread. Ask for a little less dressing on the salad if you prefer it not so wet.

We had three girls with us and they all got the kids menu with chicken nuggets and fries. Less than $10 each.

The happy hour wine for $7.00 was pretty impressive with the selection and their HH choices looked pretty good too.

The ladies behind the counter were very nice and helpful.

Didn’t expect the quality of the food from a place that serves Gyros lol. Had a lamb and chicken platter. I was totally impressed by the lamb. Tender and cooked perfectly with the smallest amount of light pink, super tender and juicy.
$37 with beverage and tip. (For lunch)
But It’s La Jolla and everything is going up in price.

Nice location, quieter than the other restaurants in La Jolla as it tends to be crowded usually. The food is good and customer service is great.

Will never go here again. First visit, I asked for some Tzaikiki to go and was denied. Second time I ordered the Gyro fries and it came with no pepperoncinis, 2 olives, 2 tomato chunks and 3 slices of onion. Basically meat and fries
