Amazing. I have never had Himalayan style food before, and I was impressed enough to snag a picture before I dug in! This was probably my favorite restaurant during my week stay in San Diego. This place won’t disappoint.

Best place to get Indian food by the ocean! I try to come here for lunch during the weekday and the service is always superb. I like to start off with their garlic naan. Also try their sauce too as it’s super tasty. This is also great for date night. Has outdoor heaters which is a plus. Highly recommend. 5/5

I was so excited to try the food, it looked amazing in the photos and sounded good as well. After almost leaving because we had been waiting for 5 minutes for anyone to greet us.. the owners who were sitting in the corner the whole time, went to the back to get the server. He let us sit outside which was nice, he was friendly and he also let us know about the prices being raised from what was displayed. I was very intrigued by the Himalayan Wings and the loaded fries (I can’t remember what they were actually called) but it looked so good with potato wedges, large pieces of red onion sauce and cilantro… when the food finally came we had a little saucer with 5 plain wings and a side of ranch. I love ranch and all but this did not look like the menu photos… and there were only 5 wings… for $15!? Also the fries looked nothing like what their menu made us think… I was looking forward to the red onions and the bigger fries to be honest… I think the server could tell we were kind of shocked when he delivered our food. We asked about the Himalayan wings and what that meant and he said it’s “basically chicken fingers for kids” ? As per usual loved my water with lemon, like anywhere else but I was disappointed and wished we would have waited a little longer and ate somewhere else for that price. One thing I will say is the masala sauce on the fries was really good.

We arrived because the menu on the street looked appetizing and fairly decent pricing. We walked in and there were a few people at a table on the computers and no one at the register. We nearly rang the bell when the lady sitting down decided it was a good time to get up and get the server out of the kitchen. We finally sat down and the menu photos looked stunning as well as the pricing was decent like I said previously. We wanted to try out the Himalayan Chicken wings for $11.99 and the Himalayan Fries for $12.99. “Himalayan” sold us on the idea that we would receive something exquisite. Not the case though, regular fries came out with butter chicken sauce poured all over them, not like the menu and the chicken wings came out completely plain with ranch sauce. We asked the server if there was a flavor and he said no that its just called Himalayan Chicken… needless to say we ended up paying and the chicken wings were $4.00 more than on the printed menu and the sign. Felt like we got robbed and honestly this message is too kind to the bad food. False advertisement is a thing and this establishment knows all about it. I would recommend to go at your own risk.

Food was great. Staff was extremely friendly. We liked the laid back vibe. We liked it enough that we came back two nights in a row. Our favorite dishes were the Chicken Saag and Chicken Tikka Masala. Mixed Tandoori and Himalayan Biryani good too. Probably could add a bit more meat to some of the dishes, but taste was delicious. Samosas were SO good. Highly recommend. Go to Shells Beach nearby for a great sunset spot!

This place is seriously underrated and I don’t understand why..I’m selective when it comes to Indian/Himalayan restaurants and this place is authentic and delicious. The food is always rich and fresh/hot. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have fabulous vegan and vegetarian options as well!

Everytime I eat at the Taste of the Himalayas, regardless of location, the food is always excellent. Their Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken ? Biryani are delicious and cooked to perfection. Adding a sweet badami nan gets you the contrast of sweet with salty so I highly recommend trying that nan.

Food is average. I ordered chicken soup and it was bland lentils soup with tiny chunks of chicken. The male waiter said it’s their version but it’s not mentioned in the menu. Lamb boti kabab was terrible, hard, and definitely not marinated. Not worth the price.

OMG. What a terrible experience in the name of Indian food and hospitality. We were in at 7:30 pm and only customers. Trimmed out menu and the kadai paneer had some weird gravy. The chicken biryani was dry without any traditional curd/raita. Just few bits of meat with dry colored rice. The service was poor. I would have loved if they had told me upfront that they are closed. Still giving 2 stars due to much better earlier experience. The location is great. I hope they work on their food and service. I have never felt insulted in an restaurant. I really want some actions against the guy who served us on 26th Dec evening. He just wanted to kick us out somehow. Arrogant and unprofessional.
