My wife and I dropped in to this place because of the location. We ordered an egg breakfast with sausage and toast. Asa we were not that hungry, we split the meal. I had to remind them I ordered coffee, and when it arrived it was cold. My wife had a a cappuccino and it was luke warm. The breakfast arrived and too was cold. We waited nearly 20 minutes for the new meal to arrive, and the sausage was cold, again. This could be be expected if the place was crowded, but we were one of three groups in the place. When the bill came it was over $50.00. Granted, the area this restaurant is is high end. But the food is not. We complained about the service and the quality, that brought the manager. He was less that accommodating and we felt as though we were being interrogated by a teenager. If you're looking for a great breakfast with an ocean view, we recommend you go elsewhere. Zero stars...
The Cottage in La Jolla is a gem! The food was absolutely delicious—fresh and flavorful. I tried their famous lemon ricotta pancakes, and they were heavenly. The service was excellent, with the staff being so friendly and attentive. The outdoor seating was perfect, with a relaxed and charming atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. Whether you’re a local or visiting, this is a must-visit spot in La Jolla. Highly recommend!

Went to put our name down on the waitlist and the host profiled my partner (who has an accent) when he was giving his number: “is this an American number??” We didn’t end up dining here.

The Cottage is so nice, we love coming here for brunch. It can get busy, but it’s easier to get a table here than most of the surrounding brunch spots. The smoked salmon hash is sooo yummy, I get it every time and highly recommend it.

My wife and I dined at The Cottage on October 1st. We ate outside. There was a nice breeze. I ordered the Salmon Wedge Salad ($23.50) which was delicious. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich (egg, bacon, avocado, arugula, tomato and purple onion on sourdough bread). The wait staff was prompt and attentive. My wife raved about her cup of Mexican hot chocolate spritzed with cinnamon. The total for the two of us was $58.95 and we added a 20% gratuity.

This place is really cute! Pretty good food, very attentive staff, great diner coffee, all the things you could ask for out of a place like this! The food was a little less great than I expected, but everyone in my party and around us seemed to be really enjoying being there :)

I tried the most delicious eggs benedict called the Antojito Benedict. The benedict looked very inviting and appetizing. The braised was beef was cooked to perfection. I loved the texture and flavor it delivered. The sopes were cooked to a light crispy and crunchy texture. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly as well. They just oozed their yolk as I cut into it. All the ingredients worked together in balance and harmony.

The Cottage has a great atmosphere and a very friendly staff. It's a nice place to hang out with your family or friends. The food is good but to be honest, the best part of this place is not the food but its atmosphere!
Kid-friendliness: They have kid's menu with some activities and crayons for them to distract themselves

Pork belly Benedict and crab and prosciutto Benedict both to die for. Candied bacon was also a tasty surprise. Seriously delicious brunch, kids food was fantastic also. Clean plates all round. Great service from Martin G. Many thanks ?
Kid-friendliness: Great for kids, modelling clay strips were a nice touch.

They had several locations this is their newest one in Del Mar. Great location very comfortable. The food was spot on service was exceptional. I had left my water bottle on the chair next to where I was sitting and left the restaurant for getting about it The waitress ran down the block after me to give it to me. Absolutely amazing food and service.

Crowded and not that great honestly. Food was just okay and our coffees that were supposed to be the same tasted very different.

Excellent option to come eat at La Holla. We really loved the bread. It was delicious. We ordered a cinnamon roll. The specials were also very delicious, the truth is that it is one of the best places to have breakfast in La Jolla. The service and attention of the staff there was very good. I highly recommend it
