The food was good, but the server did not know the menu and could not give explanation of the specials and wine pairings. She was not very attentive. It was a very expensive meal for the quality of the service. It is the only place in La Jolla that we would not choose to eat at again. The fish, steak and pork were good. There are many good restaurants that cost less or the same and were much better.

They were clearly understaffed. We arrived on time and were seated almost immediately. Then it took a good 8-10 minutes before anyone came to take care of us. The first drinks came out on time. Then we sat and waited to order. Our food came out in good time. We wrapped up salads and our meal, the waited 20 plus minutes before anyone came by to ask. At this point we skipped desert and went next door to get ice cream. It's shame about the service because the food was tasty.

BEST FOOD! I had the salmon and my husband had the tofu bowl. We ate every bite! Our server was great and even allowed us into their Honeypot speakeasy after dinner. The staff was very accommodating and we will definitely return.

My husband took me here for our anniversary, and while the speakeasy concept is really cute and the La Jolla location is great, the experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The room was surprisingly bright when we walked in, which took away from the cozy “hidden bar” vibe we were hoping for. Our server was nice, but even though my husband noted it was our anniversary, it was never mentioned. We were the only ones there, yet it still took a while to get our order in and later to get the bill — and the main restaurant wasn’t busy either. The drinks were okay, just nothing special. Overall, it’s a cute place but not one I’d rush back to, especially compared to other speakeasies in the area.

What a great evening! Went for an Anniversary dinner mid week. Arrived early evening and was greeted with a lovely Anniversary card and glasses of champagne! Caught some fantastic drinks on Happy Hour specials (3-6). Oysters were delicious. Entrees were Pork Shank Osso Bucio and Barramundi. Both excellent. Don't miss out on the Churros for dessert! Amazing. Don't wait to go!

The Honeypot was a really nice little speakeasy in the back of Beeside Balcony. When I went with some friends we had a few cocktails and beef sliders that were super tasty! It felt like a private room! Definitely would go back again!
Such a cool hidden gem! The cocktails and light bites are amazing, you can’t go wrong with the sliders SO GOOD! I would also recommend the lavender bees knees, looks and tastes amazing😍 10/10 ambience is also great, such a cute room, perfect for date nights, and a girls night!
