My husband took me here for our anniversary, and while the speakeasy concept is really cute and the La Jolla location is great, the experience didn’t quite meet expectations. The room was surprisingly bright when we walked in, which took away from the cozy “hidden bar” vibe we were hoping for. Our server was nice, but even though my husband noted it was our anniversary, it was never mentioned. We were the only ones there, yet it still took a while to get our order in and later to get the bill — and the main restaurant wasn’t busy either. The drinks were okay, just nothing special. Overall, it’s a cute place but not one I’d rush back to, especially compared to other speakeasies in the area.

The Honeypot was a really nice little speakeasy in the back of Beeside Balcony. When I went with some friends we had a few cocktails and beef sliders that were super tasty! It felt like a private room! Definitely would go back again!

Such a cool hidden gem! The cocktails and light bites are amazing, you can’t go wrong with the sliders SO GOOD! I would also recommend the lavender bees knees, looks and tastes amazing😍 10/10 ambience is also great, such a cute room, perfect for date nights, and a girls night!

Came here for a couple drinks on a date. Definitely a nice spot to taste unique sweet cocktails. Very simple but have an variety of different honeys blended in them with a base and garnish. Very clean and modern atmosphere to match the bee theme. Bartender was good, and offered recommendations. Not as cozy as a bar should be but offers a great one-and-done experience.
