Great spot right on the cove close to water front. Huge menu with many eating options. Somehow they make every dish delicious even they offer like 200 different things. Pizza is budget friendly and delicious. They used tomato chunks instead of sauce and it's great.

Meh service. The worst fish and chips I've ever had in my life and I've had some bad ones.

Food was mediocre, but reasonably priced for La Jolla. I had the halibut and it was tough and just not very good. Maybe just a bad night? Service was friendly and attentive. I'd be willing to give The Spot another chance and order something different.

Found a hair in my pizza Rest of the food was great, service was ok but I'll definitely won't be back. This was gross! Update: Both my wife and mom got food poisoning when we got back to the hotel. Whatever was in their food made them nauseous and they threw up with constant stomach pains. I am very concerned with their kitchen and hygiene of their cooks. I would avoid this place at all costs.

Delicious food but the place is too loud for me. Most people enjoy this place but for me it makes me very irritated. The music is fun for most people and it's a nice place for friends or coworkers to meet. It's very vibrant at night and sometimes you see newly weds here celebrating.

Terrible service, sat for over 15 minutes and no waiter took our order. Not recommend

The staff at this place is the best! They are very familiar with their operation and menu. They're able to make great recommendations on drinks and food. I love being at a bar where I feel welcome with great customer service. The atmosphere and location made the highlight of my whereabouts in La Jolla. You have to stop in at the spot and feel it out!

This is my favorite pizza spot on California. Love the environment and the food is great. Best pizza ever.

A colleague from Europe was visiting and we decided to treat him at the Spot. Few of us are being customers since they've moved here in San Diego in the 90is.Always loved their deep dish pizza. In fact we were there only few days before for our girls night out and it was great as always. But last night...well,what an unfortunate experience. It's a Tuesday night, the place is very slow. Since the beginning we noticed lack of service, the dining room wasn't supervised by the stuff. The hostess didn't greet us,not even a "good evening "...well not a big deal.We didn't know it was just the beginning!! I am not gonna describe all the details about the luck in service,it will be too annoying and probably most of the readers will not believe me,it was so unprofessional. Our server disappeared most of the time,so difficult to have someone's attention, they were all inside the kitchen or chatting at the bar,we even saw our server walking in the back with a Corona beer for himself!! The frustration was very high and when, finally,we got our server's presence he had a rude attitude and he act a little bit racist too. Sure,we have a strong accent, but he made my friends repeat herself 5times "12 inches" just to diminish her. I was so embarrassed in front of our European guest, what an unfavorable impression for him! Long story short,As a business owner myself,I feel so bad for the owner of this restaurant. A rude server and an unethical "manager" with both a big Ego,can partially ruin your establishment. I hope this review can put a Red Flag to the owner,as the manager suggested -we should consider not coming back anymore-...but seriously?why are you working in the HOSPITALITY Industry if you're so intolerable and brazen?

Food: Good pizza. Beverages: Okay selection. Service: Slow. And a server at an adjoining table spilled a tray of beer ON OUR CHILD. Ambiance: Loud. Impossible to talk with table mates. Bathrooms: Akin to toxic waste sites. Been coming here for decades. We're done.

I would have left a zero star but that's not possible. We have been coming here since 1996 and we had never had a problem. I don't know if they change chef but we had never had a burnt pizza. What made everything even worst was the attitude of the waiter and moreover the manager, no one ever apologize. Errors may happened but don't own it is really wrong and not apologizing is even worst. I don't know who the owner is but I feel really bad for him/her.

This spot is really a Pub but has an extensive menu that even children would like but be aware this is not an upscale La Jolla restaurant as far as the decor. Just a place that is open late and has good food

Went in the early evening on a Monday night with a friend visiting from Chicago. Weren't looking for anything fancy so this place is where we ended up. There are plenty of tables inside and some patio seating outside with heat lamps. Small tables. Service was good, but waiter couldn't explain what the 5% surcharge was all about - just said it's something they always add on to help w costs. Is that even legal? The food itself was meh. We split Cheese Sticks/ potato skins and a small thin sausage pizza. Mozzarella sticks and skins were decent. Pizza was nothing to write home about... Food and 1 bottle of Coors Light beer was almost $80 for 2 people with tax and tip. ALSO they have an automatic 5% surcharge - as I said - even server didn't have good explanation as to why .... and then their tip options on the TOAST card reader start at 20% and go to 50% - are they hoping that drunk people aren't reading their bills?? I'd head to a chain or somewhere else next time around... nothing special.

Food was decent, seems like a great place to take family or friends for food and good times. They have a great music playlist and our server was professional and attentive. There were some oddities worth note though it seems like a staffer brought their dog to work with them. Not sure if it was a service dog or otherwise and a few customers were smoking inside if the restaurant sitting a table away from some young kids. Wouldn't recommend for a romantic setting or date night but otherwise location gets the job done. We tried one of their pizzas and mac and cheese.
