Amazing quality dishes and drinks, with rich add savory veal, the lobster ravioli was my girlfriends favorite. Went for SD restaurant week, met the owner Francesco and our server Heather was so fun. We will definitely be going back now.
Have been going to Antica Trattoria for about 25 years and have never had a bad meal. Franco delivers true value to their customers. I think Antica Trattoria is the most authentic Italian restaurant in San Diego.
We were first timers to Antica Trattoria and were very impressed with the entire experience. I had the saltimbocca, which was among the best I've had in San Diego. My wife enjoyed the veal Marsala, which was another hit. We will be back. BTW - in case you want to bring your own wine, on Wednesday there is no corkage fee.
Delicious food, great staff. The seafood fettucinu is out of this world good! And the meatball appetizer is a must. Great find in La Mesa.
Why have I not been here before and why are more people not talking about this place? Amazing.
Back again. Even better. The Rizzoto with squash and pistachios. Wow! Staff still super friendly and attentive.

My wife and began coming here when antica first opened in 2001. Yeah In those earl Franco Sicily There were times when the restaurant only had 2-3 tables occupied. The food was excellent than and, along with the prices, has only increased in quality of preparation, presentation , and flavor. Bravo!!
The food and service is outstanding. For me it's too loud and the tables are way too close to each other. But the food, it's so good. The lasagna here is bomb!
surprise surcharge fee...
Great food! A little on the pricey side but consistently good. Love the polpetine, bruschetta, chicken picata and tiramisu.

Stopped in for dinner for the first time in several years. The food is good and not too pricey; house wine was acceptable. The wait staff seemed a bit harried despite a slightly full restaurant. It took a longer time than expected to have my order taken, but once that occurred the food came out in a timely fashion. Had the penne with shrimp and salmon and it was quite good. Other than the service being a little off, my visit was a favorable one and I would return when I am in the general area.

Our server started out spicy and ended up sour. Wow. Unbelievably rude. Full after my meal, the remaining portion of my dinner had been sitting for at least 15 minutes while our group engaged in conversation at the table. The server came around and shamed the women that didn't finish our meal. She leaned in and proceeded to treat me like a toddler, took my actual fork and tried to feed me the leftovers, not once, but twice. Completely inappropriate. She also handed the spoons for dessert to our husbands and said you can only have dessert if they say it's ok since you didn't finish your meal. This could be construed as funny, however, one incident after another left us unamused and annoyed. Misogyny isn't dead. I really wanted to enjoy a night out here after reading the reviews. The wine was the only thing that didn't disappoint.

We loved our experience! The food was absolutely amazing! We had the veal saltimbocca and the sea bass. Both were exceptional. Will definitely be eating here again soon.
Fuimos una mesa de 8 personas y nos atendieron muy rapido y con mucha amabilidad, el lugar es 100% Italiano en su decoracion y su comida estubo muy bien. Si regresaremos encantados!!!
I have celiac disease and they brought out pasta for me with gluten. I believe our meal should have been comped as it is a very serious allergy and I will get sick from this mistake. Unfortunately they refused to comp anything except the pasta dish. The most expensive poisoning I have ever had. The whole meal should have been paid for. Our waitress was excellent and I am very grateful that she noticed the error before I ate the entire dish. I think the manager is entirely unreasonable for this and if you have an allergy I would avoid this restaurant at all costs. A thoroughly disappointing experience aside from our waitress.

This place is always nice and in our neighborhood. Even on a Monday there were several tables full. Keep doing what you are doing Antica!
