You need to update your website. Made reservations for Claim Jumpers La Mesa, California for a Birthday. FYI THIS LOCATION IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Disappointing for the Birthday person. WEBSITE UNRELIABLE INFORMATION AND IS NOT UP TO DATE FOR THE PURPOSE ITS USED FOR. Great when it works but this time messed up a celebration for a special person.
This location has a sign stating, "this location is closed" when I went on 9/15/2024.
Their salad bar is lacking in a variety of items for the price.
Their soups were a bit off on the taste. We couldn't finish one small cup of the soups.

We were seated right away, but every table around us was dirty. They eventually cleaned them after we ordered. Service was good. He brought bread and drinks immediately but forgot to refill our drinks later. But the best part there is their Carrot Cake. It's the absolute best. I always get the Carrot Cake.

Everything was delicious. The food servings weren't as large as they were before the pandemic. But, still delicious.

This location is very tired. Diner style. Dingy and dirty inside. The food was mediocre at best. When we arrived we waited more than 5 mins to be greeted. It didn't look as if there was anyone working host. A server came over and sat us at an uncleaned dirty table that needed to be cleaned. Food smears on the seats. For the price it's was a terrible value.
Would not recommend. Salad bar is not worth the $19. Waiter never checked up on us. We were not greeted when we arrived. Feels really bad going to spend so much money these days on apathetic service. Really disappointed ?

I guess Google wants me to really be sure to share how bad this place was. I already did a review but it keeps telling me to do another one. I said it all in my previous review and don't want to waste the time saying it all again. To sum it up, stay away from this place. It would be very easy to find better service anywhere in San Diego than here. Not recommended unless you like to sit unattended and to have to ask for everything since they have one lady work 20 tables at a time. Just my opinion but I would recommend anywhere else before this place.

So excited there was a claim jumper during our tournament weekend in San Diego. Food is always so yummy. We had the Bonanza Platter & southwest eggrolls to start...delicious and filling. My son had the NY steak, medium rare; my daughter and I had the salad bar and soup...mmmm mmmm; my hubby had the chicken pot pie...his favorite and so tasty. Our server was awesome. She made sure we were so well taken care of. To end our meal, we had the berry butter cake, which we miss because we don't have a claim jumper anymore. It's always the best way to end our meal at claim jumper. Berry butter cake!!!!!
My husband and I had a lovely dinner this past Saturday at Claim Jumper. Our server, Carlos couldn't have been warmer, more welcoming, or kinder; we really enjoyed his customer service. I had the BBQ Chicken Salad; the chicken was a little scarce and the garlic bread very small but otherwise it was just as I ordered it, omitting several of the items I requested not be included. My husband ordered the Southern Fried Chicken; he was expecting traditional fried chicken, which this was not (and almost identical to the Country Fried Steak entree), but ate it anyway and said it was tasty (although it was served with way too much gravy). We both had the Jack's Berry Cobbler to drink, which was so good! We enjoy coming to Claim Jumper and will definitely return in the near future!
Definitely not what it used to be. Things have definitely changed when it comes to dining out. Claim Jumper was known for it's great food and large portions, not so much anymore. This location was old and smelled it. The place was empty and felt like the "Shining" when at the bar, no one was there and it was a Friday night. The food was not it's best; steak was very small and tough, the baked potato was tough like wet leather, the calamari did not look like calamari and was not good at all. My daughter had a hamburger that looked like a burger from jack in the box, not impressed. My wife ordered "broccolini" with her steak, they brought out regular broccoli and it was burnt, looks like it submerged in a deep fryer, awful. For what we paid, I expected a lot better. Thanks but no thanks.
Good food. Had the fish and chips. Leave room for chocolate cake-really good.

Completely understaffed. Had reservation, showed up prior, and still didn't get seated until almost 30 minutes past the reservation time. Food was subpar and the wait times for drink and ordering service were uncomfortably long due to the lack of staffing. Unenjoyable experience and we will not be returning.
