Hooleys Public House

My thanks to Olivia for her assistance in getting a gift card mailed out to a young man turning 21 and wanting to taste his first Guinness. I don't live locally anymore and Hooley's doesn't sell gift cards on-line (shame, shame) but Olivia was able to assist me and mail it for me. I could feel her smile and can-do spirit across thousands of miles. When I did live locally I always enjoyed Hooley's food, drink and their wonderful staff. Thanks Olivia for your help.

I frequent this pub often as a patron since its do close to home, but also sing there 3-4 times a year .I love Hooleys Grossmont! Just love it.. The Owner and Mgr are wonderful, as is their staff! The food and libations are consistently delicious!
The layout and cozy wood interior truly creates that Irish pub vibe ...(bit larger than pubs in Ireland!l But they truly capture that feel.
The tables and bar and most of the booths have a great view of the stage! And as a performer whose show is all about interacting with the audience ...this place / that stage is a gem!!! I love Hooleys Grossmont!

Quiet and friendly. All the food I've tried so far (Half&half burger, Fish & chips, the Mac & cheese, and the fried PBJ) were all great. Service is attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend.

It's not anyone's fault. It could just better. I do really like the style of the place. The food is unique but familiar. Definitely Dan Diego Cuisine.

Cool little spot in the Grossmont Center. came in for some brews during an Eagles game. Quiet group when I arrived. Might come back for dinner soon, awesome spot.

Yes I give 5 stars even though nothing is perfect I find Hooley's to be far better than a dive bar for a drink plus everything I have ordered has come with good service and the food has been delicious ... Skip the dark dive bar head to friendly Hooley's

That is $49 worth of sweet potatoe fries, chips and Onion rings. Im certain was defrauded and ripped off on my to go order. Definitely open your food containers and confirm before taking your order. I would not recommend and would avoid to go orders.

Food was good, albeit a bit on the heavy side. First time having Scotch eggs and enjoyed. Good appetizer to share as I think it’s a little heavy for one person. The white cheese potatoe pancake was too heavy for my liking but I wouldn’t mind trying other flavors. The shepherds pie was good.

Service was attentive. Ambiance is interesting… it is a dark bar, which is rare for San Diego! The patio was quiet and very shaded.

Worth a trip out for this, not really but definitely good food option in the neighborhood.
