Food was good, albeit a bit on the heavy side. First time having Scotch eggs and enjoyed. Good appetizer to share as I think it’s a little heavy for one person. The white cheese potatoe pancake was too heavy for my liking but I wouldn’t mind trying other flavors. The shepherds pie was good.

Service was attentive. Ambiance is interesting… it is a dark bar, which is rare for San Diego! The patio was quiet and very shaded.

Worth a trip...

We had lunch at Hooley’s Public House today around noon and were very impressed with the overall atmosphere—it was lively and welcoming. Our waiter was excellent: friendly, attentive, and very patient throughout our visit.

While placing our order, I inquired about alcoholic beverages. There was a bit of uncertainty regarding drink options, so I told our waiter I would go to the bar to see what was available. I ended up sending my 21-year-old son to the bar...

I love this place. What I like most is the consistency. One thing thata standouts is Forest. The guy is the most chill and customer orientated dude I have seen in my mmm 35 years of dining? Serious! Guys a gem. All the rest of the cree is great too.. Anthony and Greg!.
