This location never lets me down! Fast friendly service and food is always consistently good!
Decent food and ok service but a bit slow towards the end; a thankful assist came from another server on her own bringing us our to go box for leftovers and our server eventually showed up with our bill. Server seemed manic starting like gangbusters and then muted away as our meal progressed (and admittedly busier with more customers). I liked the breakfast crepes but more savory options would be nice with one similar to taste of the poblano eggs Benedict. I find bacon overrated as it was used in this crepe’s flavor profile as the only savory option. I loved my biscuits with gravy. The eggs Benedict poached egg was not runny that took away slightly from this dish. Coffee got luke warm just does not keep hot in the table side canister as it used too as far as I can recall from other visits plus did not seem that hot to begin with from the start. I enjoyed my bowl of fresh fruit. I could not use app to pay as you had to go to cash register that was disappointing since advertising at table was about this great IHOP app I downloaded.
I had the Smokehouse sausage and eggs with hash brown potatoes and buttermilk pancakes. Good flavor and the hash brown potatoes were perfect, not crispy or burnt. Love IHOP coffee, for restaurant chains I think there coffee is the best!
Great place for a great price. Although they did mess up my grandma's order and charged her for things she didn't get. And we waited around 15 mins for our food. But everything else was amazing and we loved it.
IHOP is a well-known chain restaurant that has been around for decades. It used to be a go-to spot for families to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. However, as time has gone on, it seems that the quality of the food has decreased. The LA Mesa location of IHOP is a prime example of this. The food at IHOP is just average, and it is hard to find anything that stands out as exceptional. The pancakes used to be a highlight of the menu, but now they are often dry and tasteless. The eggs are often overcooked, and the bacon is greasy. The burgers and sandwiches are nothing special either, and they are often served with cold, limp fries. The staff at IHOP are generally friendly, but they can be hit or miss. Sometimes you get a server who is attentive and helpful, while other times you get one who seems like they would rather be anywhere else. Additionally, the cleanliness of the restaurant is not always up to par. Tables are often sticky, and the floors can be dirty. Overall, I would not recommend going to the LA Mesa IHOP. While it may be convenient or familiar, there are likely better options nearby. If you are looking for a headache-free dining experience, it may be worth exploring other options in the area. The 2.9/5 rating reflects the lackluster food and inconsistent service at this particular location. Hopefully, IHOP will make improvements in the future to restore its former reputation as a reliable family dining spot.
If only the country fried steak was real and not a sausage patty breaded. It stinks is not real Meat and is dusgusting. Service was good. Nice people work there
I think we went during a shift change because we had three different servers so the food took a little while but all in all it was good
Cleanest IHOP I've ever been in! Great service, spacious dining room, and our server was fantastic! I had simple pancakes and my wife had the Pancake and French toast meal. We both very much enjoyed the simple but well done meal! Will definitely return for another Saturday brunch!
we arrived right before the rush and we got a table right away. The breakfast we ordered was great! My grandkids ate all their food which is rare. I recommend this IHOP
Kid-friendliness: My granddaughter is 8 and found something and ordered it herself and ate it all!
Came here on Christmas day with the family. Waited for around 20 minutes, no waiter, no offer of drinks. Server working my section was seen serving those that came in after us. So, we left. No excuse for bad service, treat all customers the same or don't work in customer service! Discrimination should not be an issue in 2022. If you feel a type of way about certain groups of people, don't go applying for a job in customer service, in America, the biggest melting pot on Earth! You look extremely goofy and need to re-evaluate life.

Food was sub par took my wife son and one of our daughters and nobody was super happy with he food. The service was good was a little slow but eggs were over cooked pancakes were undercooked and understand I don't hold IHOP at an unrealistic expectation for quality this visit was subpar
We went on Labor day, and the store was very understaffed. So service was lacking. They needed more staff as the restaurant was very busy. They were out of several items we asked for. I am not sure why. The staff was very friendly and we had a good meal.
I banned IHOP for 10 years about 11 years ago. I went to the same restaurant that provided me that bad experience 10 years ago. My experience today was precisely the same! How do they stay in business?! The food was like eating a salt brick. Everything tasted the same... and how may I ask that bacon tastes the same as an egg?? The waitress seemed unhappy and passively combative. And, the same, when you pay they don't ask how your experience was because they know it sucked. Don't go. Newly created ban: 20 years. I hope I'm dead before that's up!
The service was very good and fast, but, it could be better like make sure there's sugar at the little container and ask if you want regular half and half or flavored creamer, the difference it's on the little details
Food was very good. Waitress was very pleasant even though IHOP was short handed. Just her and the cook??? They're hiring for all positions.
