If you’re a BBQ lover, you absolutely have to make a stop at I Q BBQ! This place is a gem that should be on every food lover's radar.
From the moment you walk in, the mouthwatering aroma envelops you like a warm hug. The ambiance is casual and welcoming, perfect for grabbing a bite with friends or enjoying a cozy family dinner.
Now, let’s get into the food. The smoked brisket is an absolute must-try. Cooked to perfection, it boasts just the right balance of smokiness and tenderness that melts in your mouth. And don’t even get me started on their homemade BBQ sauce—it packs an amazing punch that keeps you coming back for more.
Make sure you don’t skip the sides! The mac and cheese is creamy and delicious, a perfect companion to any main dish, and the collard greens are a delightful surprise, bursting with flavor. If you have room for dessert, the bunt cake slice is the cherry on top of an already stellar meal.
The staff at I Q BBQ are friendly and attentive, ensuring you have everything you need and offering great recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable for the top-notch quality you’re getting.
Overall, I Q BBQ has quickly become my go-to spot for BBQ in town. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to treat yourself to a meal here. You won’t regret it!

Great meal. Thanks for being open on July 4th! Amazing burnt ends, mac and cheese, and beans... save room for the pistachio cake!

Overall, pretty good, especially for SD BBQ.
Pork ribs: no notes; as good as it gets
Brisket: perfectly cooked, but could use some trimming from a large fat cap.
Collards: as good as it gets
Mac and cheese: it was decent,. Bummed that the toddler didn't like it.
Burnt ends: maybe a little more chopped up than I would have liked. Good sauce. There was some hard bits in there, maybe some cartilage. Not amazing
Great sauces

My new favorite BBQ place in San Diego. The pulled pork, brisket, Mac and cheese, collard greens, and potato salad were fantastic. Their sauces are great and the cornbread is very moist and tasty.

The food was cold & old..
greens taste like canned greens w some meat shredded in them.
Beans taste like canned beans
Man N Cheese was mediocre
Ribs taste like yesterdays ribs & they were dry asf smh
Took a wrong turn on the freeway and that lead us to this place. We had been wanting to come in and took this as a sign. We went for the two meat meal- brisket and pork ribs with bbq beans and cole slaw. Delicious!! Brisket was fork tender and full of flavor, pork ribs were seasoned perfectly and just right. The baked beans and slaw were just as good. We liked that they let you put your own sauce on. The tables have their house made sauces, bbq and a bbq mustard. Both fantastic! They have beef ribs but only on Sundays, so we’ll need a return trip( oh darn!) Definitely have some new fans here. Oh and worth noting, we got one meal which was plenty for the two of us.
I think I’ve made this my now go to barbecue place when I need that fixed! The food is always fresh and plentiful and quickly served whether you’re dining in or taking the order to go. Study the menu carefully because there are some items that has an extra surcharge on it, but not too much extra, but don’t be surprised.

Their brisket was the worst! The fat overwhelmed the meat which was not pull apart texture. Their portions were skimpy, for example: 1 sausage coined? Damn, for almost $30.00 you would have thought that you get at least two, while the sides were below average especially their Mac & cheese. I don't know who the chef was, but he/she needs to be torched!

Great BBQ spot hidden right off the 125 & 94 Fwys. Parking is a bit of a challenge but we'll worth it once you are inside & seated. Multiple TVs so you can watch all your favorite teams. The staff/owners are very attentive to their customers.

Friendly staff and good food although the ribs were a little salty. I wish the sides were a little bit bigger to make two decent meals out of my plate.
