Izakaya Maíze

My husband and I went to this place for a date night on Sunday, from the moment we arrived the staff was very friendly and attentive. We both ordered margaritas which were delicious. We ordered the egg rolls, masa dumplings, duck fried rice, Brussels sprouts, scallop skewers, and 2oz A5 wagyu. The meat was amazing! So buttery and delicious. My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Izakaya Maize for Valentine's Day. We have been to a lot of restaurants both locally and regionally, and this place has easily become one of our top restaurants we've been to. The Valentine's menu was amazing! We heard about this restaurant from the recent San Diego eater article. We loved our experience here. Our server was great and knowledgeable about our drinks and food. The cocktails were spot on. The Japanese sunrise was excellent and the carajillo was the best I’ve ever had. The wagyu sliders were our favorite for the night, highly recommend. We also loved the duck fried rice and the wagyu skewers. We are definitely coming back
