Wonderfully well-run city. Staff are always attentive and responsive.

Honestly Disappointed. Sidewalks are horrible. Trip and fall all the time. The police department has received bad press for a long time. They show no respect for the community from the officers through the Sarge. Tried to file noise complaints multiple times. Police told me they were not going to honor me. Or even take my report. It was pure personal opinion. Unacceptable from an officer, the law is the law.. have to move my car for street sweeping even though they never do it. Santee is much nicer and cleaner. Do yourself a favor and just be an unincorporated San Diego or San Diego itself. You would think in a small city they would have more pride. However unfortunately it's only the people and not the city that cares or has pride. I see people sweeping the gutters because a street sweeper didn't come. Old handicap men/women take the road because the sidewalk is messed up or people parked on the sidewalk... I'm going to start to post pictures in their photo section of all the damage in La Mesa that is ignored by the city and only getting worse and causing more problems.. disappointing....

The city of La Mesa is a pretty decent sized city located about 10 miles east from Downtown San Diego. It has some good shopping centers, malls, grocery markets & eatries. Also, know for its downtown village.Where a lot of unique shops are located.Overall, it is a decent city to explore.

I had such a great experience with the council of La Mesa!We needed more room for the 50+ individuals that were present!

The City of La Mesa is a beautiful, hilly place that borders San Diego and the neighborhoods eats SDSU. It's elevated, home to Mt. Helix and abutting Lake Murray. We moved to San Diego County and CA from MA 2.5 years ago, and chose La Mesa for it's beautiful Village, great dining options, modern built-to-suit homes, gorgeous parks, and safety. It feels very small town, but with perfect living options for buyers or renters. We love La Mesa.

Proud to live here, work here and play here. This is a great city on the verge of something great!

I watched this community fire a police officer, for risking his own health, and well-being, to detain a belligerent criminal offender. This is NOT a place where people should visit if they expect to find integrity, honesty, or justice to be held in esteem.

Right off the 94 & Spring street exit was one homeless individual. Now, there are 4 homeless people who have created a filthy encampment right next to the exit. They take dumps in public, throw their garbage everywhere, and are killing the vegetation that once made the exit look nice. This is absolutely disgusting and is bringing down the city of La Mesa. We, as taxpaying citizens, shouldn't have to put up with this crap. If any of us were to pee in public or throw trash out our window we would be cited and fined. Meanwhile these cockroaches of society get to lay around doing exactly that with NO REPERCUSSIONS. La Mesa USED to be nice, clean, and a great place to be. It's not anymore. I'm sick of seeing filthy homeless people laying all over the benches and ground.

La Mesa Police department is ignoring and not documenting any complaints about the officer they have under administrative leave for abuse of authority. This precinct is very much part of the problem with policing in America.

Homeless are taking over our parks. And all we can do is stand by and watch it happen. Kids aren't allowed to play, but homeless, they can crap in the grass...
