Great spot for coffee and lunch. I know a lot of reviews say it's a great place to work from, I have to say I disagree. This is an awesome coffee shop and it has wifi, but it also plays screamo/hard rock music which isn't the most conducive for working and they only allow laptops at certain tables. Will definitely be back but sans laptop.
Very hip, great staff, awesome menu. Love the atmosphere here and they're always playing good music. Sometimes a bit too loud, but the nice outside seating solves that issue. The pandan latte is definitely my fav, and their scones are a must. Especially at happy hour prices.Parking: Parking behind the building.

Best Coffee House in La Mesa, California. There is something about this cafe that makes you feel like home. I just love it. The freshly baked sugar scone is delicious, it comes with your choice of butters. Love the Fig & Honey butter, it is so yummy ???.I highly recommend this cafe, it has a positive vibe and the price is affordable.

I love stopping in here for a beverage. I’ve enjoyed their cold brew and their hot tea alike. They also make a mean chocolate chip cookie! The atmosphere is relaxing and the shop provides plenty of seating so it’s a nice place to take a break or get work done. It’s definitely “positive vibe” themed here and it’s rather infectious. The prices here are very fair! It’s refreshing to get a coffee and a pastry for ~$5

Truly exceptional service, good food, and pretty good coffee as well.If you can try the guava butter, they seem them by the scoop, as a flight of different flavors and even as $5 cups if you end up liking one a lot.
The food is good, but the food comes separately so be prepared to eat cold food until the coffee is ready. The structure is good, the cafe is beautiful and the food is delicious, but there are not enough employees to provide adequate service.

We discovered Public Square a month ago during one of our visits to the Friday Farmers Market on La Mesa's main street and truly enjoyed the atmosphere, the customer service and the food.I had the avocado toast (which I had never had before) that also includes hummus, veggies, a wonderful and unique dressing and an egg, which I had scrambled on the side. Filling and very tasty. We went back this past week and had lunch there again so now it is a go to for us when in La Mesa.
This spot not only has great coffee and food, it also has amazing service! We went in to buy coffee beans for our coffee shop down in Mexico and were treated with best service we could have asked for. Could not recommend this place enough ?

I don't think I have ever had a negative experience here. Not ONCE. This is the kind of place worth being a regular at. From the music, to the wonderful baristas, and especially the coffee they take their time and love to make. My go-to items are: the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte, the right amount of sweet without it overpowering the taste of coffee, and their Breakfast sandwich. I love their sandwich its a 10/10!!!! Third item has to be their artisan tea.Kid-friendliness: They welcome friends of all ages, they even have a basket with some toys and books for children. Their restroom actually has a diaper changing station.
Nice staff, great seating options, and delicious expertly made coffee drinks. The dark chocolate mocha is delicious. The avacado/humus combination toast was great. Never had it mixed but it was yummy. The menus is tied to healthy options although their scones are to die for! We will be back.
Bustling coffee house and cafe. I ordered the avocado toast which was delicious. I also got a latte which was okay. The food took quite a while to arrive and not until my coffee had cooled off. I had to eat in a hurry to get somewhere.
