would've loved to support this cafe, however their treatment of their employees is disappointing and disgusting at absolute best. zero respect for the staff putting in labor for them to even stay open. do better! i do not recommend supporting this business. they threaten to call law enforcement on their own staff unprompted among other abusive behaviors.

My husband was in a long line here this morning. He decided to call the order in while he was waiting in line. Simple: scrambled eggs with toast and a chorizo bowl. He gets home and we open the bag and there is only one box inside with some flat egg thing, not scrambled, with untoasted, unbuttered bread. No chorizo bowl! My meal, if you could even call it that, was disgusting. Cold flat egg patty thing, indescribably bad and some bread, total joke of a meal. And no chorizo bowl!

Instead of writing this I tried to call and speak to the manager. His demeanor was unwelcoming, blase, passive aggressive and did not seem interested whatsoever. He always seems this way. Not even sure he's the manager, barely wanted to give me his name. Disinterested, unprofessional sounding. I just had to hang up since it was obvious we weren't going to get anywhere.

The food here is never good - that's a given - but the atmosphere is fantastic. Work on the food and service please - especially the food! So few options in the village. This place should be great but it's just a mess every single time.

I come here often for work meetups. Food and coffee are both great. Lots of seating available and nearby parking.

Sheldon's is one of my favorite places to grab a bite and chill.7

I ordered a blueberry muffin with my meal. But there were only 4 blueberries in the whole muffin! I'm not totally sold on this place. But I will return and try it again.

Three friends decided to meet at this Service-Station-Turned-Restaurant. It has only outdoor seating. There are sealing heaters for comfort during cool er temperatures. There is table service, but orders are taken and paid for at the front register prior to seating. The food is prepared to order and delivered to tables according to the numbered table ornaments, respectively-given to groups at the cash register. The restaurant is a popular one

Back during the shutdown in 2020, I visited Sheldon's Service Station which was great because of their outdoor seating. Remember the coronavirus regulations when you couldn't eat inside or when it was limited to a certain number of people?

I had passed by this restaurant before in La Mesa but never visited. It has a very Spanish style outside and is central to Downtown La Mesa.

The service was fairly quick, and I ended up grabbing a chorizo bowl which was an omelette with a mix of chorizo and hash browns.

The color was great with all the different ingredients, and the plating looked superb.

Flavor was good enough to go back to Sheldon's Service Station. The cotija cheese was definitely strong and noticeable. Sour cream cut through the heaviness of the dish too. It was a good balance of flavors.

Vegetarian options: Great selection of vegetarian options which is something to look out for with breakfast spots.

Pretty great value and great quality. For the half sandwich (tuna) and the soup of the day. The ingredients they used in the sandwich were pretty stellar so make sure you get all the veggies due to the great quality.
