Swagyu Burger Bar

Love this place and went back to try something else. But they stop taking orders 30 min before they close so heads up.

My first wagyu burger, sauce seemed to overpower the flavor and it was a little salty. Good service.

Me and my family were excited to try this place but were so disappointed with the food, service and atmosphere! An employee brought us menus and never looked up at us or acknowledged us even though I said “hi” and “thank you”. We went for dinner but they only had a the lunch menu available, the menu listed online is NOT what they offer. I asked the waitress what a katusu cheese sandwich was and she replied that she was new and didn’t know, she never offered to go and find out. The meat to bun ratio is not good, your mostly eating a bun AND they did not resemble the pictures online. Lastly, the music was so loud we couldn’t hear each other talk. Unfortunately, this is the first and last time for us at this overpriced burger joint.

First time here… ordered 2-23.00 burgers fries and onion rings. Waited every bit of an hour after being told it would be 20 minutes. Not to mention the order was completely wrong. They did not add the lettuce I requested and the burger they did give me was no where near the one I ordered. The other burger only came with cheese and some kind of sauce which was not what we ordered either…such a disgrace and I will not return for those salty over priced burgers. The only plus was the fries were cooked correctly! The onion rings were greasy!! I wish I could upload a pic of this 70 dollar meal… thumbs down for sure and yes I complained to the manager.

Went for lunch today, ordered our food and 2 waters, the water was only half full, waitress felt like she wanted to be anywhere but there. Food came out quickly. But we never got refill on water, never checked in on us after our food was delivered, waitress was just on her laptop the whole time.

Fry's were under cooked and had soaked up so much beef tallo that they were not good, maybe the oil was not hot enough, zero crunch on the fry, just kinda soggy.

American burger with added bacon was good, bun was great and very good cook on the party and bacon.

Western burger had too much sauce that overwhelmed the bun and patty made it tough to pick out any flavor other than the sauce.

Overall would not recommend, there are so many other burger spots in San Diego.

Good atmosphere, the single slider is better than the “OG” Wagyu mixed patty burgers. Get the food, DO NOT get a drink here they charge $12 a shot. That means a double shot Rum and Pepsi (cuz they don’t have Coke) is $24

Very high priced, but I ordered the A5 Wagyu (which is the Rolls Royce of beef), and I also ordered the A5 Wagyu tallow fries, and a real ice cream vanilla shake, so I expected to pay a high price. I waited more than 30 minutes for my meal as did a couple of other customers. I was hoping for that perfect, crispy outside and juicey inside, but my burger was so over cooked, it was really dry. (Such a waist of beautiful beef) The french fries were spot on delicious, but the shake was like milk. I think they made the shake way before the meal was ready to serve. I'm not sure if I'll go back there or not. I do love A5 Wagyu, though.

This place is terrible. We come in at 7:45 when they close at 9:00 and they say that they can't serve us food because they don't have enough people scheduled to make the food. There were literally no people there which makes no sense. I tried to take a picture of the inside to show that there were no people there and this crazy person from the resturaunt stands in front of me and then follows me to my car like a psycho. Then he takes a picture of my car. I told him I was just trying to take a picture for a Google review to show how ridiculous this is. This is absolutely terrible service and unforgivable. Please tell the owner we will never even try to come back here. If you've had a bad experience yourself please report it and get this company out of La Mesa. They don't need to be here.

Waited for over an hour for our food. One waiter was overwhelmed but told us that our food would be coming at 35-40 minutes of waiting. Customers who arrived after us got their food before us. My wife and I left highly disappointed after reading such highly appraised reviews.

Would give zero stars if I could. Health department needs to be called. One employee had no shoes on and was stumbling around the room with one of those beige fabric bandages hanging around his dirty foot going in and out of the kitchen. Guy behind the bar said he was the “owner” then started raving about all his instagram posts then proceeded to bully a girl at the bar for her weight saying she didn’t need a burger. No one wants a $23 burger that tastes like Burger King.

Was really disappointed, have heard good things about the chain. The service was indifferent at best. OG Swagyu burger was fine, but not amazing for the price. The Cadillac Margarita was tooth achingly sweet.

Been coming to swagyu since their first location in IB and these burgers are like nothing you've had. People get afraid of the price but you are getting your money's worth for wagyu patties that melt in your mouth ?
