There are inconsistencies in the beef udon spice level. This is a recent change because it use to be a nice spice but not too much. I'm not sure if it's because of different cooks but several times we will get udon recently and it's way too spicy and you can see a reddish orange film on top of the broth of the udon that will indicate its too spicy. We actually asked them to make sure they didn't put a lot of spice, and it was extra spicy.

Had an amazing first-time experience at this sushi spot! Our server was “B” and she was knowledgeable, guiding me through the menu with excellent recommendations. The sushi was fresh, and the service made the meal even more enjoyable. Can't wait to return the next time I visit SD!

Just ordered from Tappi Sushi for the first and the last time. We ordered chicken teriyaki, a California roll, shrimp tempura roll and a Philly roll. All the food was severely underwhelming - it was like getting sushi from a hospital cafeteria - zero flavor and just not…the correct way to make sushi. The teriyaki chicken was paper thin with a sauce (on the side for some reason?) that can only be described as barbecue rather than teriyaki. Vegetables were practically raw with (again) no flavor. The miso soup was a dark brown color (burnt?) which no one wanted to sample. The 4 and 5 star reviews are probably from employees or family members. I was really hoping to like this place but sadly we won’t be back.

Tappi has the best sushi i've had! It's always super fresh and delicious and they have so many choices to choose from. The service is always super amazing. Jyan is always super sweet and welcoming and very attentive. I always recommend this place to my friends and they always love it as well.
