A friend introduced me to this place and I am so glad she did! It has a great and comfortable atmosphere with bar/table/outdoor seating. Dogs welcome and treats provided for the furry customers. They also have lots of beer on tap including this one amazing tangerine wheat beer which I loved and will go back for. The service was exceptional and so was the food. Very fresh and large portions! Overall this place is wonderful and I can't wait to go back and invite others to join me!
I appreciate this neighborhood bar. The beer selection is very good, its really what brought me here. The food options are also pretty decent. It's not going to he a super fancy place but it has character. The wall art is pretty interesting.
The food was good but over-cooked to my liking.
Great BBQ, love the flavorful pork Sandy's.
Enjoy!
Location was easy to find, parking was okay, the staff were fantastic very pleasant and on top of their game being a good service Personnel for the restaurant. Food was also very excellent and beer selection was great We will definitely be coming back to this place numerous times.
Burgers and beer are top tier !
The servers were great 😊, very helpful. We tried the Nachos definitely a must try. I wanted to try the recommended sandwiches but we were just there for a quick round of drinks. It was a light afternoon, so lots of seats for whoever wants to enjoy the place. I would go again in the future. If you guys want to try some BBQ flavor and beer 🍻 go visit this place. ☺️
Every time we’ve gone, the food is good. They also have a good choice of craft beers on hand rotating. The service can be either really good or really bad. They have forgotten about us and left us waiting for a check for 40 minutes. I ordered a hamburger with two slices of cheese, when they served it the hamburger only had one slice. I asked the waitress if she could just take it back and add another slice of cheese. I am more than happy to pay for it. She blew a huffing sound, shrugged her shoulders and rolled her eyes and said whatever and walked away with the plate. When she brought it back, she sat the plate down and said, “Do you have enough cheese now”. My wife and I have actually enjoyed going to this place, but that waitress has turned me off for a while for sure.
The food at West coast smoke looked excellent but that's were it ended it was just ok not horrible but not good either I got the bacon western hamburger the burger had no seasoning the onion rings on it were not crispy the BBQ sauce was good the French fries were to salty my buddy got the west coast brisket dip he gave it a 3.5 said it was pretty dry service was good wait staff was nice and plenty of parking

Got the two meat plate with double brisket which was an additional $5 a pop. Brisket was very thinly cut which I have not seen before. BBQ sauce was poured on the brisket. IMHO, if the brisket is good then you do not need BBQ sauce so prefer it not pre- applied. Got onion rings and they charged me an additional $1 for ranch. Also it was craft beer Thursday but did not apply for my SD local craft beer I ordered. Service was fine.

West Coast Smoke and Tap is my number one favorite La Mesa restaurant. Enough can't be said about great food with excellent service. The kitchen staff gets after it every day. You can order any dish and be satisfied. On top of that, these folks are putting out specials every day that could keep you from finding your favorite dish inside the great menu that they offer. If that wasn't enough to make this the best place to get a bite they have an amazing beer list that is always rotating while keeping some staples on tap like Mongo ipa from Port, Pliney the Elder from Russian River and The Pupil from Society. They offer stouts, sours, pilsners, and all styles of beer as long as they're worthy. Great atmosphere for family gatherings to watch the game or bring the whole little league squad. Last but certainly not least, the wait staff is nothing short of spectacular. Chelsea, Zack, or any of the other servers will make you laugh and help you find the beer you need and make your time here one to keep you coming back.!

I’m loving the new updated menu. The pozole is OMG so delicious! Staff was super nice and the selection of craft beers were thumbs up. The food really did impress me. Top food items I loved were the Pozole, Reuben ( they pickled the Brussels sprouts) and the banana bread pudding. All the food here is really tasty but those were the ones that especially made me drool! Love this place.

Went for Padre wild card game, good crowd. The 2 girls working were working their butts off but still taking care of everyone. Great customer service. We had brisket sandwich, pork ribs and pork sliders onion rings and salt and pepper wings. 🤪
