To the owner: I've been a loyal customer and have always told people El Pollo Loco is not even close to Juan Pollo in taste and quality, I've catered big parties with your delicious food. I don't know what happened but the quality just dropped off a cliff and we had to throw away our rice, beans were bland, and the potato salad was no longer flavorful which I've felt has been a slow downfall for a while. I'm sad I have to write this review and there is no other Juan Pollo in our area that I can go to besides your location. I get that the cost of everything is way up and labor/food prices are much higher than before and you need to find ways to help with your overhead without raising prices but the quality suffered so bad that I can't eat there anymore. I really really have always loved Juan Pollo and my family too, La Habra location closed and your store has been my go to for years. Maybe you can fix it, maybe it doesn't make sense for you. I would love to one day eat here again and experience the quality it once was but for now it's just no bueno.

The chicken was dry and salty. Payed $50+ for a family meal (definitely would get more at Costco at a quarter of the price) and everyone barely had anything on their plate. Sides were 1.5/5 at best. I’ve eaten at several restaurants similar to this and this one lacks heavily in every aspect. Food service was quick but a red flag due to it being sitting out for hours most likely. The joke around the table was the amount of pico of gallo that was given, they gave me a tiny little cup of pico de gallo. I didn’t even bother to ask for more. I don’t mind the extra charge for a card as others do but the amount of food you get, price and quality is horrible. More than likely never coming back.

I love the best chicken restaurant that's similar to a Mexican restaurant, except when the meal cooks fast. Juan Pollo has been around in exact 40 years since 1984 and it's mostly famous for chicken. With the flour tortilla, I can even make it into a burrito, add beans, and potato salad on the inside like a new concoction.
Everything is fine, just the prices are a bit exaggerated.

Bottom line food is amazing!!! Now that I got that out of the way, let me explain why they get 4 stars and not 5. If everything was based on taste, it would be a no-brainer 5 stars, but especially lately, I have been coming here for years. The amount of food you receive has declined while prices have gone up. And to top it all off, the attitude and customer service you receive is, sadly, just plain bad. It's like they know their food is good, so you're going to come back no matter how they treat you, and well, they are kind of right. They usually allways have a line, and despite how much it bothers me how they treat their customers... I keep going back. But I will say this there have been times when I was given the option of eating here or at another of my favorite restaurants and I chose not to come to Juan Pollo because of the bad customer service. So they may not feel it yet, but I think if they don't change a little, it will affect their bottom line. Customers can only take so much even if their chicken is to die for and there rice is made with watter that has been mixed with the drippings of their amazing chicken with little pieces of shredded chicken thrown in just to tease you. Oh, their food is heaven its just too bad their workers are far from angels
