Unfortunately I thought this place would be more than it actually was. TV's were on (CNN politics) detracting from the atmosphere I had anticipated. No jazz music playing at all which would create a NOLA atmosphere. Loud conversation of employees coming from the open kitchen. Food was fine just lacking overall classiness. Things listed on menu were not available and greens were not fresh. Disappointed.
Whyyyyyyyyyy is this place closeeedddddd !
Visited last weekend in the afternoon for the first time to order takeout as I was craving some delicious Shrimp 'n Grits and found Gram's Kitchen from searching on Yelp. The online menu on their website was a bit confusing because the food I was interested in (shrimp n grits, gumbo, jambalaya, etc) was at the end of the dinner menu so my initial impression was that they only served those items during dinner. But it turns out they serve those items all day.Food: I ended up ordering the shrimp and grits & beignets (which wasn't on the online menu, I asked over the phone if they had any desserts). I was pleasantly surprised to find the portion very generous (especially since the price is on the higher end) and that it came with a piece of very yummy cornbread! The shrimp 'n grits sauce/broth however, was rather salty so I couldn't finish the shrimp which really absorbed the saltiness. I really enjoyed the grits though! The beignets were not beignets (if you've had real beignets, especially in louisiana). They were way more like thick croissants in the shape of those little bite size square pizza rolls with a little powdered sugar sprinkled over them.I loved that they were friendly and had my order ready to go once I arrived. Next time I would ask if they are able to make the shrimp n grits a bit less salty.
I had a fantastic experience in this restaurant. We loved the great atmosphere and the menu. The waiters are very attentive. I am glad we eventually managed to eat here.
Delicious creole cuisine. This place never disappoints. Service is always great. My son loved the catfish and their shrimp and grits is awesome.
On yelp it has curbside pickup. But in actuality you still have to go in so it’s not curbside. Please update the yelp information. It was disappointing to know after I ordered that there is no curbside. I asked the worker and she seemed surprised that they had curbside! I even called a few days prior to get information and was told curbside! Very disappointing! The workers were very nice
Great service, great music, and very presentable and delicious food! They even heard that my girlfriend got a job and served us a dessert on the house to celebrate!
The food is cooked with a creole/southern flair and it's taste earned it 5+ stars. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night, you are entertained by live musicians and comedians. They serve breakfast on the weekends until 2:00 p.m.. Unfortunately I have not tried the breakfast yet because when I went they had a cook shortage and had a very long wait. At least they were up front about it. All courses look very appetizing. And from experience, I highly recommend the cat fish dinner that comes with red beans and rice that are sure to satisfy. Don't forget about the beignets!
The location and atmosphere was nice. The food and the service was really good, however the amount of food for the price was lacking. My husband and I left there still hungry. The glass of wine that I ordered tasted good but it was barely 3 oz compared to 6 oz that you get at other places for the same money. Not sure I would go back.
I would definitely eat at Gram's Kitchen again, not only for the delicious food but also for the great staff.

First time here. Such sweet staff, very attentive waitress. Refilled my Fiancé tea many times. And had a great time chatting with her. We will definitely be back!!
Had a great time, food was absolutely delicious. Enjoyed the Jazz band.
The waffles tasted like cardboard. They added way too much seasoning on their fried chicken. Their Gumbo and Jambalaya did not have the flavors and the goodness of creole food. As an African American I was just hoping for something better but it's was not authentic in taste.
Thank you Gram’s Kitchen for bringing great food to SoCal (Orange County)! I am originally from NOLA and you guys have my approval! I had the Jambalaya, Cajun fries, and beignets. If anyone is interested in some good creole/Cajun food, don’t think about it, just go! The staff also mentioned they do breakfast, that’s next on my to try list. Hope everyone gets a chance to try this awesome restaurant! Chow!
We had an amazing experience! delicious food, great service and great live jazz music! Rosa
