We used to love this place, but ever since the new owners took over, it has completely gone downhill. We’ve tried coming back three times, and each visit has been worse than the last.
This time, we ordered a waffle and were told the iron “just needed to heat up.” Twenty minutes later, a manager came out saying the waffle machine was broken and they had to 86 it — which completely contradicted what we were told. Meanwhile, only one person seemed to be cooking, the staff was telling walk-ins there would be a 45–60 minute wait, and we watched multiple tables seated after us get their food first.
After waiting over an hour, we were asked if we were ready for the check — even though we had never received our food. Once the food was received every item was cold and congealed, forgotten under some dim lit food warmer in the back this whole time. When we tried to explain the situation to the manager, he just stared at us with no reaction, said “OK,” and walked away. No apology, no effort to fix anything, nothing.
That was the final straw. This place is not what it used to be, and we can’t recommend it anymore.

We are not review people, but this place was worthy of one. Everything was so fresh. The egg yolk was dark orange (good quality), toast was fresh, potatoes delicious, salsa fresh and spicy and coffee high quality. Grab breakfast while charging your Tesla and you’re off to a great start.

Stopped in for breakfast on Sunday - the kitchen was clearly backed up and we waited nearly an hour for our food. The servers were doing their best, but the restaurant wasn’t even full and the kitchen was clearly having issues. When our food finally arrived, my wife, who has an avocado allergy, realized there was a green sauce in the burrito. She asked the server if there was avocado in it. He said there wasn’t, but then told her the potatoes were cooked in avocado oil. She had already eaten half the burrito, and started to get worried and explained that she had an allergy. He told us that she should have told the server that, which was incredibly frustrating, since avocado oil is a much less common cooking oil. He kept asking about if it was a bad allergy or not - it really shouldn’t matter - an allergy is a problem no matter what. He went to double check with the chef who said the potatoes were NOT cooked in avocado oil. They didn’t even bother to offer a refund because my wife was totally freaked out and didn’t want to eat the rest. We were very frustrated by the situation - $80 for 3 mediocre breakfast burritos and two iced coffees, and an hour wait. Not worth it.
I see that the owner has responded; you are correct - my wife ended up being fine. But if you had a serious allergy and someone told you you’d just ingested the thing you were allergic to, you would understandably be very scared. The way the situation was handled was the problem, and the owner of this place clearly holds no empathy for the experience of their customers, as evidenced by their response here and to other less than glowing reviews.
For being a small and quaint restaurant the food was really good! We got the smash burgers with different add ons and the fingerling potatoes side wow! It was great! We also ordered a kids meal for my friends son and the waffle was yummy. I ordered the mermaid matcha and it was OK. Service was great very accommodating as we had made a reservation for outside and then moved inside. Thank you for that we definitely liked the ambiance and we are not from the east side of the Coachella Valley to say we will definitely be back but we will try.
