My 1st time here service was good, only a few customers on a Monday evening. I ordered Eggplant parmesan (my favorite dish!) Unfortunately it was not good, I can't describe the texture, it felt thick rubbery. The taste was unbearable, I requested the dish to be taken away. I wouldn't eat here again.
The food here is great. Service is a little spotty, but I am still very aware staffing is an issue basically everywhere. I would still definitely come back for the food. Meatballs were amazing. Family loved the chicken parm. I also got these eggplant rolls that were amazing. Overall, a great meal with the fam.
Lovely Italian restaurant - it was very busy and hard to get a seat. The seafood pasta was excellent.
Don't let the whole Pier Novelty throw you off, there are some nice restaurants here such as Fog Harbor, Crab House and Eagle Café. Excellent Bay View too! For a girl who loves fresh seafood as much as I do, the Pier is a great place to do my crab hunting.
The pizza was served lukewarm and after eating a couple of bites, we couldn't stomach eating more and asked that the pizza be taken off the bill. The manager implied the cold pizza was our fault, that we should have told the waiter of the situation, and the pizza would be reheated (who wants a reheated pizza?). The staff's attitude was hostile and we didn't want to wait for another pizza to be made, so we agreed to pay for the pizza just to get out of the place. BTW the service was horrible and the other meals we ordered were mediocre at best.
I realize the food is not that great there, the pizzas are hit and miss, but my latest experience is strike three. I live about 2 miles from this place, otherwise I wouldn’t give it three strikes. Website says open till 9pm. It’s the BNP Paribas Open, Friday night, March 11th. We were at Indian Wells and left before the 6pm matches were over wanting Italian food close to the house so that we might enjoy a glass or two of wine. We walk in at 8:15 or 8:20 and were told the restaurant was closed. There were a couple tables with patrons and waiters were busily cleaning up tables and arranging their world for lunch tomorrow. I’m sure the woman who tossed us, who looked completely disheveled by the way, had tossed out groups before us and was ready to toss the next group out. You could see it in her eyes as she practically growled at us. I know that north Palm Desert is still trying to bring their restaurants to something above retirement food, but can’t we get behind helping the community out when there are money making events in the valley? Here’s a clue: There are a couple events coming in April, big events. Why don’t you gear up for those because, guess what guys, summer is coming when you will claw for every patron you can get. Guess who’s not coming to see you this summer?
I had better Bolognese from Marie Calendars frozen meals. It literally tasted like chopped hamburger meat in ketchup save your money and skip this place
After years of living in La Quinta and eating regularly at Buccatini, we unfortunately won’t be going back. The restaurant has always been reliable and a nice place to go for Italian. Not too many tourists and good food. During the pandemic restaurant shut downs my friends and I always ordered take out from there and our other favorites to do our part to keep them open and weathering the storm. I’ve also hosted at least 6 business dinners there in the past. Over the last 6 months or so the service and the food quality had started to slowly decline but we took those incidents as “one offs” and continued to go. The last time we went, a few weeks ago, we had an awful experience with the manager. My friend had ordered the same dish she regularly ordered and for some reason it tasted “off” to her. Different seasoning, different spice, who knows but she just couldn’t eat it. No harm no foul. She let the waiter know she’d rather have a salad and he said no problem. A couple of minutes later the manager came to our table-quite angry and aggressive- and said that he was “pretty irked” that she would send the food back and asked her if she knew it was a $30 dinner and asked her “what he was supposed to do with it”. It wasn’t really the fact that it wasn’t a $30 dinner- he accused her of ordering veal and we were eating chicken- it was how INCREDIBLY AGGRESSIVE he was when we hadn’t even raised any issue, she had just asked for a salad. He made us incredibly embarrassed and uncomfortable and the staff was as well. After all the business we brought to the place, even recommending it to visiting friends, it was really shocking. We paid our bill and left and won’t be going back. There’s far too many other restaurants to eat at in the valley. I’m not sure if this guy also owns/manages the other location but we won’t go there either just in case.
The manager/owner ? Was rude and obnoxious. Seemed more interested in his cell phone conversation than his customers. Even though I like their food, and the rest of the staff is very good, I won't be back, but the owner/manager won't care!
winter has come to la quinta but bucatini does not care. It was 54 degrees outside when we arrived at bucatini. door wide open and at least in the 50's inside as well. Had to keep our winter coats on as did almost everyone in the restaurant. We were told they had to keep the door open to keep the air flowing. I guess turning on the heater wouldn't help the flow. Our food was cold and had to be sent back. the sausage flatbread had no sausage but took 15 minutes to get a refund. Asked to speak to the manager but he said he was too busy. won't be back and won't recommend to our 10,000 person community population either.

We had a good time. However the food was just ok
The server wasn’t friendly, pizza was good…
Nina was the greatest server ever. Was so polite to us all, she was just awesome. Thanks to Nina for taking care of us tonight.
Just got back from bucatini this evening and I will never go back. I’ve been there before and it was very good. Tonight they have changed. The service was just horrible and the food has definitely changed for the worst. Just wanted to have dinner with my family and it was a waste of money. I had to flag the server down multiple times, the bread has changed and was not good at all. I won’t be going back.
We have been coming here for years and tonight was our first visit in a few months. Everything about our experience was disappointing. We had to flag down a server even though there was only about a 20% of capacity. We gave our order and asked for water. Never came. 15 minutes after we ordered our server came back because he fo forgot what we ordered. Evan more annoying was that a foursome who came in 15 minutes after a s were served. We were ready to leave and another server noticed we were preparing to go. Magically she brought out our dishes which apparently were sitting in the kitchen. Asknmed for water refills...no luck. My carbonara was good but my wife’s veal with mushrooms was way too heavy on the beef stock or bullion cubes....extremely salty. We rush d through our meal and vowed to not return...there are many fine Italian restaurants nearby. Time to try them.
