It's always an experience and a pleasure to dine at Melange. The ambience is adorable. The food is always consistently delicious in the service and staff are helpful and kind. One of my favorite hidden gems.

Our overall dining experience was very good and the view of the lake from the patio was fantastic. Robert our server was a delight. He was attentive, courteous and informative. He talked to us about how new ownership and management recently refurbished the property and was creating a new guest experience. Very nice. As locals and previous frequent visitors we look forward to this unique facility gaining popularity year round.

We had brunch at Mélange at the Chateau and sat outside on a lovely warm day (80) and it was wonderful! Highly recommend the lemon pancakes and eggs benedict! Delicious! Service was excellent and one of the most lovely lakeside views in the Desert at Lake LaQuinta! Will definitely go back and try Happy Hour or Dinner also.

Was shocked when entering as the newly remodeled interior dining room was very graphic, with new art that didn't have any overall theme. Black and white floral wallpaper was everywhere, even on the beautiful stairs. It was too bright for evening dining so I had the waitress dim the lighting. It was unfortunate as I'm sure it was very costly but I booked there specifically for the Parisian darker ambiance that we had experienced before. The waitress was attentive and very friendly but shorts, really? The food was artfully prepared but came too rare, steak and pork chops, so had both plates taken back to cook more. It was a good meal after that and had leftovers, even. Very good overall service but I hope they don't discard the European charm of this lovely boutique hotel.

The service was slow. We had to ask for more water. Our order took a long time to arrive at the table and there were only 3 other tables occupied.

We had brunch with out of town guests! The service was wonderful. We were greeted warmly when we entered. The dining room was gorgeous. We had requested to dine on the patio. It was lovely and very comfortable. The server was awesome. He really made the experience very special. The other staff were friendly too! The food was exceptional! We will definitely be back.

We had a lovely dinner outside overlooking the beautiful lake. Our food was delicious and we wondered why there were only two tables of diners outdoors. We have been there before many times and will continue to bring other friends there in the future!

The water front patio had only 1 other table in use when we arrived. We had a great view. Server, Britany was very friendly and made us welcome. My prime rib was the way I liked. A beautiful evening and many boats going by. I think this place deserves some more good reviews, as I read some that gave me second thoughts. This was the second time we gave this restaurant a try. Both times we made a reservation later in the evening and when we arrived, we were told that they were closing soon. I asked them the second time why they even bothered to take a reservation. They act pleasant, but I could tell they were annoyed that we were there as we were the last people. The place did not close for another hour by the way. The staff seemed to be very sweet and the waitress was really sweet as well. She was adamant that they did not have prawns which I verified with her. So I ordered the scallops... Fast-forward 10 minutes and a plate of prawns come out. I did not want prawns. I ordered scallops. She tried to offer me something else on the menu, but there were only a few items to order and none of the other ones looked appealing to me so I decided just not to have dinner. She offered me dessert, but since I hadn't eaten dinner, I'm not sure why she did that.. anyhow... It wasn't a great experience. The cocktails were good, but they should have been comped after not being able to enjoy a meal with my family. The place is beautiful though... And my husband‘s meal was good (aside from the thing previously frozen chicken). We were told they were under new management so to go to the front desk and pay (like we were at a Diner). It was where people check into the hotel but when we get out there and no one is there so that was a little awkward as my husband had to ring a bell. Finally, someone came out of a room and ran my husband's credit card. It was declined though we used it somewhere else immediately after. I use mine, which was attached to the same account and it was also fine. Not sure if that was glitch..They could not print me a record so I asked to take a pic. When I got to my car, they had ran the card for Moore than the final bill. I was too angry to go back, but if I'm petty enough, I'm gonna do a charge back for the amount they overcharged . I do not recommend based on two experiences.

While visiting Palm Desert with friends in February 2025, we had Saturday brunch at Melange, the signature lakeside restaurant at The Chateau at Lake La Quinta. When we walked in, Robert advised us that he was the only server and bartender working that day AND there were six tables ahead of us. He was very pleasant and promised to get to us as soon as possible, and we decided to stay and wait. We were seated outside, given menu and drinks and ended up waiting for a much shorter time than we anticipated - many thanks, Robert!
The food was excellent - I had the shrimp & asparagus omelet, and the others enjoyed the Benedict, mushroom omelet, and blueberry french toast. We loved sitting outside with the gorgeous lake views.
