JoAnn was our server and was extremely nice and very helpful. Very nice booth near the fireplace as we had ask for. The streak skewers were very SMALL cut up bits which does them to be very rare. The pot sticker although streamed came out cold. The cucumber roll was very good.

Okura is our go to Japanese food restaurant in the desert. The service, food and ambiance is consistently very good. Our favorite sushi: Mango Tango Roll, Sashimi Nigiri & Hamachi Nigiri. Other favorites: garlic edamame, beef skewers, shrimp & tempura just to name a few. You won't go wrong. Try it all - it's a pretty safe bet to be delish! ???

Okura is our go-to place for sushi in the desert. Good food, good service and well designed room that can get noisy but not ridiculous. They have 5 or 6 sushi chefs and they crank it out. Sitting at the sushi bar is quite an experience. Besides sushi, the robata offerings are really good and the dynamite rock shrimp is always terrific. We will be back when we return in November.

Upon entrance to the restaurant we were addressed by someone I believe to be the hostess. We had a 630 dinner reservation we arrived at 620. She told me that our table would be ready soon. I said okay we will just go to the bar until the table is ready. She then said emphatically your table is ready right now. I was so confused. I asked her. Is the table ready now or not ? Then again she said it will be ready right away. If we hadn't been with friends I seriously would have walked out. So unprofessional. The food was excellent. Our server was wonderful but massively over worked as he was the only one taking care of the floor as far as I could see. Yes they had kitchen runners but not the same as a sever being able to come and check on you. He did the best he could and he was wonderful. Now. Let's talk about the cleanliness. Wow. We were the only table with a candle in a glass. The glass had splashes of remnants of sauce and food splotches. I asked one of the busers to remove the item from the table. And now to the glass surrounding the dining area. This glass was so dirty. I mean come on. Do better. If you are going to design your restaurant with glass surrounding the dining area CLEAN IT!

Tempura ans salmon dinner very good as well as one sushi dish. However, two sushi dishes were not very good. Service started slow but ended up pretty good. She took one sushi dish off the menu.

This used to be our favorite place to go while in the area 7 weeks every year. We've eaten here twice the last 4 weeks and the value and quality has gone down. I don't think we'll go back again this year.

Always great quality, fresh fish, go 1/week and have never had any issues re the quality of the food, service, etc - JoJo is our friend and favorite server. Sometimes they get the martini order mixed up :)

ate at Okura for the umpteenth time. Sushi was all we had and it was nicely done. The place was swamped, so service took a nosedive. If you are looking for "high-end" Asian cuisine in LQ, unless you are driving to PS, this is it. Somebody please open a restaurant in LQ or PD that is not French, Steak, Italian or Sushi. The Desert is a broken record.

I highly recommend because the food was very flavorful, even though I did not give 5 stars across. We had the James Dean roll, the Toban Yaki and Saikyo Sea Bass. All very good quality, but the rib eye was supposed to be medium rare and arrived well done. I don't like to send food back and waste it so ate it since it was still very good. The service was friendly but could have been more attentive. We never got water refills and I was never asked if I wanted another cocktail. Groceries are expensive so I get it but it was a little pricey. I would still eat here again, though the next time I'm in town.

Delicious sushi rolls which were larger than usual! The best dish was the black miso cod!! Shrimp and veggie was very good altho served lukewarm and then easily replaced by perfectly hot tempura when we complained. We will return soon.

We had a great experience. Their servers are very on top of things and super on top of things. The only thing we were disappointed by was we had a 7:5 reservation and we had to wait a good 15 minutes just to get sat. we sat out outside onthe patio, which was perfect as I would have to say that it would be difficult to have a conversation inside as the acoustics are not very good. However, the atmosphere is very nice if you do sit inside.

We came at the time of our reservation. Plenty of open tables but still had to wait ten minutes to be seated. The air conditioning was blowing directly down on us. I asked the hostess to be moved and she offered only the sushi bar even though there were many open tables. We stayed at our table and two parties were seated next to us and they also asked to be reseated and were. The restaurant needs to put diffusers in their AC outlets to prevent the cold pouring straight down. The hostess could also be more considerate and trying to find us another table. That was the negative. The food is excellent. Large portions. Drinks a little pricy. Service was great.

Typically this is our favorite Japanese restaurant to eat in the desert. On this occasion we were very disapointed in the food. My wife had the Sashima Salad and it was served with little or no dressing. I had the Pan Seared Tuna which turned out to be mainly a salad with very small and very few pieces of tuna hidden beneath mixed greens which were not mentioned on the menu . I asked the server where the ahi was and she said it was at the bottom of the plate. I feel that hiding the protein is a sneaky way of serving this dish. Usually the protein is on top or tossed, not buried under a salad.

This is the best place in the Desert for Sushi!!! The staff is always a pleasure and the restaurant is always immaculate. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fantastic, Exotic, Japanese style sushi, and dishes.

Honestly, this was the best sushi I have had! Absolutely PHENOMENAL quality of fish, fabulous plating and display, and the service was superb! Our waitress really provided 5 star service and I would come back here any time and certainly look forward to it! The restaurant inside was beautiful and had a lovely layout and feel. My compliments to the owners, servers, wait staff, and chefs!
