EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING! The only thing worse than the food was the service! Party of 6 for my daughter’s 11th birthday. Place was grimy and hot inside. Tables not wiped clean and chips in the plates and ramekins we were given. Staff stared at us with vacant expressions the whole time. Sushi was probably the worst we have ever had and menu we were given did not really seem to match the one on their website. Lukewarm sushi rolls that were supposed to be cold and hot food that seemed to be microwaved as it had a rubbery texture. Everything was over salted and soup even seemed like it was just reheated. I let the young girl know it was my daughter’s birthday and she nodded and walked away- nothing more said. I have never been to a sushi restaurant that didn’t give at least a little fanfare and fun for someone’s birthday - didn’t want a free dessert, just a little fun shout out- but absolutely nothing- not even a smile from any of the 5 employees gathered behind the counter. Will never return and so disappointed that we wasted a special day on this crappy place.

The food is okay, my sister and I wanted to try a new Sushi restaurant, we found Sawa Sushi, we ordered the Godzilla roll and some Miso soups. The soups were not hot, they were room temp. Sushi was subpar. Our biggest issue was probably the service, we had to flag our server down because she never came to check on us, we needed napkins and refills. We would love to give Sawa Sushi another shot someday, hopefully things improve.

No frills japanese restaurant with very fresh sushi, sashimi dishes. Can't comment on other dishes since I never tried it. I usually share sashimi combo with my husband plus couple of other rolls. Would not recommend it for date night as there is no ambience but fish freshness is on par with more expensive restaurants near by. Fast efficient and friendly service. Great for casual dinner.

My go to sushi experience in La Quinta. Every tome I have visited, the food is super fresh and the service always prompt. Spicy edamame (not on the menu so you have to ask) is some of the best i have ever tasted. I have tried everything from sashimi and rolls to the mixed tempura and everything has been excellent.
We are on vacation and we’re traveling with eight of us from 15 month old- 47 years old…3 had never had sushi/sashimi! We called in advance to ensure they could accommodate us and they said yes! We arrived and they had the tables set up together with a high chair for us within 5 minutes of my call to them! The food was delicious and all the food went! We ordered the boat for 5 of us and all of us had some! All the food was eaten! The service was wonderful and fresh!!! And the pricing was very affordable! We had the dessert! (2) fried ice creams and green tea mochi! For all 8 of us it was $257 with dessert, (2) sakes, (2) chicken teriyaki plates, (5) rolls and the BOAT!!!! Worth every penny and bite!!!! Highly recommend!!!!

The service in this place was very bad, the waitress had no desire to work there. Their way of delivering the food was rude. They have a sign outside “best sushi in town” And there was nothing good about it Its taste was not good Your presentation was ok There are better sushi restaurants in the city.
