If you’ve ever yearned for warm dishwater with a faint rumor of caffeine, The Marketplace’s coffee is your holy grail. Brewed with what seems like a single, spiteful coffee bean and decaf tears, it’s a masterpiece of mediocrity. Perfect for those who despise flavor and joy, courtesy of The Marketplace’s unparalleled commitment to disappointment.
The worst coffee I’ve had. Unfortunately, this is a corporate-owned shop, so you’re essentially getting the same coffee as ‘lobby coffee’ that you can get for free at any big chain hotel. It’s sad, really.

The Spanish latte is addictive. So delicious. Also the ham and cheese and egg croissant. The staff is always pleasant. I’m so fortunate that Citrus ? CC is connected with this beautiful resort .

We live across the street so we go to the resort every now and then, either for a quick snack in their marketplace, or bigger meal in one of their restaurants. Most of the time we were pretty happy with the experience but lately the marketplace (coffee shop) was a big disappointment. Especially coffee. It used to be decent but I can’t even explain the taste of the latte I ordered today. Looked like a drip coffee mixed with a warm milk. And they clearly didn’t add any vanilla syrup I asked for. One of the worst coffee I’ve ever had. My advice: get coffee somewhere else. Also, their pastry is now all warmed up in a pastry warmer. My croissant tasted like it was there warming up for hours. Not good. If you can order one they have on the side in the baskets. Lastly, we ordered breakfast bagel with cheese and egg and it was tasty. And please bring the Manner Wafers back!

The line takes forever and extremely slow service. 20 minutes to get your morning brew. The taste is worse than Starbucks. The only coffee shop in the high end resort leaves guests no choice. That affect overall experience.
Don’t go for the coffee! The staff was more than willing to give me two replacement cups of coffee ($11) be the first two were Luke warm at best when we got back (2 minutes) to our room to enjoy it. I took two new large coffees back to our room and while they were hot this time, the taste was weak and cheep tasting! I use the same Italian coffee beans at home from time to time but it doesn’t taste like this.

I've been going to the La Quinta Resort in La Quinta, CA since the 1980's. We stay at least once a year and love going right before Labor Day. I went through their website on booking and used the 'Summer Escape' deal that was $248 a night with $40 pp for spa per diam and $100 dining credit per day. We got in around 6pm on Thursday and after driving 2+ hours from San Diego, we just wanted to get room service and chill. First of all, Eli Altamirano, is awesome at the Front Desk/Mgr and was wonderful. Along with Patricia at the Front Desk as well. When doing the 'Summer Escape' Deal of 2 nights at $200 for our stay for dining, no where did anyone state that it is $100 per diam NOT a cumalative, so, if we over spent on our per diam, we were charged the overage, even tho' we were under our $200 for our stay....this is very deceptive and I feel that I have been duped out of my monies that I had but for one, was not explained to me at checking in and I couldn't find it on the website either. Went to Morgan's for 5pm Friday night drinks and app's and while the website and the voice mail for Morgan's states Open at 5pm, the door was locked and here was me and others were waiting in the 115 degree temp's till around 5:10pm and we went around the side door, which was open to see the hostess state it wasn't open till 5:30pm. The Manager, was irked but there was no 'Sorry' from him and we all were met with a real attitude issue with the Mgr. We've been going to Morgan's for at least 10+ years and we've had issues with this Mgr before. We spend money, tip at least 30% and really don't appreciate being treated with such disdain. Bryan, the bartender is OUTSTANDING! Left him $40 tip on $130 for taking good care of us and softening the brunt of the brusk attitude of the Mgr. I called the Front Desk and they verified that Morgan's opens at 5pm and took off $50 for the wait in the hot sun and attitude of the Mgr. Food for breakfast at Twenty Six was always good with Salmon Benedict and the 2 men that have been there for 33+ years are SO nice and I believe their names were 'Fernando and Roberto' but I could be wrong...lovely guys!! My main beef about staying here on the 'Summer Escape' is it should be a Cumalative and NOT a per diam per your stay. If I'm staying from Thursday-Saturday, how is that broken up? No one explained and when I called to check out, it was $100+ higher. The toiletries are now very pedestrian vs. the Frederic Fekkai that they used to have. I know a lot of hotel resorts are scaling back but this hotel is another caliber vs others and no one wants non-descript soap, no Q-tips, John Wayne toilet paper! I'm bummed out and it left a bad taste after going here for over 35+ years and being a loyal guest!
Might be one of my favorites. The place is so relaxing and the staff is amazing. Little pools everywhere so you can always get a place to sit. The Mexican restaurant was great also. The poolside casita was very nice but I might just do the garden casita downgrade next time as they are quieter. I will absolutely be back and I cannot wait!
If you are looking for a place to unwind for a couple of days with a pool at your rooms doorstep....this is it. 40 pools provide a way to relax around the pool without having a huge crowd. You share a pool within your courtyard. Want to visit another pool? Go for it, no restrictions. We stay at a lot of locations and they usually entail a 15+ minute walk to get to the pool from your room. Think about it.... open the door and take 20 steps to plunge into the pool. Need something from the room...easy pesey

Third time staying in this resort. Never disappointed. We visited during an extreme heat wave but we still managed to enjoy ourselves and the plus that it was not crowded. We enjoyed the Adobe Grill for my sister's birthday dinner, the mole was excellent!
My wife and I recently stayed at La Quinta Resort, what used to be a glamorous place has not turned into a corporate landmark. The checkin experience was fantastic, I believe his name was Matt, was very accommodating! He even gave us a complimentary upgrade, I am assuming because of our status. After checkin everything went down hill. We had an AC issue and the female manager at night, Veronica, was less than accommodating. We had engineers come to our room 2 times and said that front desk would contact us, after 15 minutes no contact from them. So we contacted front desk and spoke to Veronica and she said she could Move us rooms but there would be a charge. What!? We have to pay to be moved? Given that we had already had issues with our AC and did not want anymore problems we upgraded to a starlight, however was not a 60$ a night thing. Why could we have not stayed in another poolside? This is insane. I called yesterday to get an email for a manager and they said to email some information email. What kind of establishment is this?
Our visit has was disappointing from the start. Though these things are super minor and could have been over looked, I will start by mentioning that when we got to our room, the Conditioner and Body wash were totally empty and there was a spider web in the shower. We assumed this would be fixed once house keeping visiting on day 2 of our visit, but surprisingly, it was not so we had to request this refills. Again, would have been minor but just part of the sub par experience. They delivered it, but clearly couldn’t enter our room (which will take me to the next point) so left it out in the boiling heat instead of finding a solution to put it in the room. Two days ago, in the 115 degree heat, our room key stopped working. Not a big deal, it happens, but that was occurrence one and your team was able to fix it quickly. Yesterday, again in 113 degree heat, our keys stopped working yet again. We have a one year old son, and I am 5 months pregnant, and we were now locked out of our room in the extreme heat. While we 1000000% are aware that the heat cannot be controlled by your staff and the keys not working was not anyone’s fault (we heard the heat was impacting the locks), what could have been controlled better was the response by your team. Because it was now unsafe for my son and I to be locked out of our room, my husband had to ask strangers if we could sit in their room in the air conditioning while he tried to have your team resolve this. Some lovely folks in another room took us in for what we expected to be 5 minutes but instead it took your team 30 minutes to resolve this. My husband was told someone would meet him in 5 minutes to help us into our room but after waiting 10 had to go back to the lobby as no one arrived. In total it took 30 minutes to resolve this. Again, our issue is not the inconvenience whatsoever, but it was the lack of effort or urgency from your staff for something that could have been very dangerous for a pregnant woman and one year old. When we submitted this complaint we were lied to saying they sent someone to resolve this the first time, but we did send them a follow up on the miscommunication between bellhop and security (that no one was sent). Today, to make matters worse, we unfortunately forgot some valuables in the room (which we take full responsibility for and know this is not their fault) - but where they are at fault is for stealing the items. We were able to tell them EXACTLY where the items were (one of them personally engraved) and first we were told the room was already cleaned, then we were told that it was not cleaned yet (clearly trying to cover lies), then when I questioned the stories it was now only part of the room was cleaned and not the bathroom where the valuables were left. Again - this piled on top of the other mishaps was just the icing on the cake. As mentioned, we typically love this resort and are long time customers - but this has been wildly disappointing. Knowing that if anything is to go wrong they will not take accountability or protect you. Sadly, we will not be back after being customers for 15 years.
We have stayed here many times and I guess now that it has been downgraded from Waldorf to Curio everything has gone downhill. Check in was awful. Slow and she was rude. We used the special resort credit and we received 3 or 4 different answers as to how to use the spa credit and the other credit. Manager needs to train the staff for it is irritating to get different answers to what should be a simple question. Room was ok other than not cold upon check in and refrigerator was frozen over. Would think they would defrost it. Restaurant service was good and food was good at 26. We were celebrating anniversary and gift was really cheap. We used to be diamond members. Usually receive a piece of cake or wine. All in all will not be coming back to LQ.
If you are headed to the Palm Springs area for pools, this is the place to go! There are so many pools to choose from. The casita style rooms were nice too. There are several good dining options onsite. The resort is also near a good, but rather warm, running trail. I can’t wait to go back for a longer visit.
