Have been buying from Gene's since we moved into the neighborhood 3.5 years ago. The food and service has been phenomenal until the past six months. Everytime we place a phone order, it is wrong. We have always asked for onions with out mayo and noone ever told us onions are extra! Each time the order is incorrect we call and get some quick talk and never offered the opportunity to correct it. The wraps are also under par lately. They are smaller and loosely wrapped and fall apart when picked up.This morning to avoid mistakes I walked into this place to order in person. There was confusion (possible language barrier) and had to repeat a couple of times. I remembered the last phone order the bill was about $5 higher than normal so I asked if they are charging us for onions. The lady nodded to the affirmative and I asked her to remove the onions from the order. I added I thought it was stupid to charge extra for onions on a sandwich. I got kicked out and told never to come back. Which in this instance is fine as my walking in was my last effort to get decent service and a correct order anyway.So the rule here is do not complain when they F up your order multiple times, don't expect honesty as no one ever told us they are charging more for onions, dont expect accountability becuase the gal at the front counter does not care, and never speak your mind becuase the people waiting on you don't comprehend what you are saying!

Grinder's? Where? I saw pictures of some tiny rolls and burgers and burritos, but no grinders. Grinder's are loooong baguettes FILLED with food. Not wee lil samis.

Pastrami is very good! Made with pastrami, pickles, and mustard. They toast the roll so if you don't want it tosted you have to tell them. Helpful staff
Rude from the start. Stopped for a bite from out of town. Not having a mask, I asked for one as per the sign on the door says "If you don't have a mask we will provide one for you. Just ask for one". Over the blaring TV, the waitress told me I had to bring a mask next time. I explained I was from out of town (where masks are not necessary) and stopped here for a bite. Asked for a mask again. After two more times of pointing to the sign that said to ask for a mask, and two more times of the waitress telling me I needed a mask next time I come in. I gave up and left. Please!!! There was no way I could communicate to this person. Covid is making people crazy!!!

Ordered the korean bbq sandwich pork a club and fries. A side of onion rings. The korean bbq sanwich was a bit spicy but so good. I had never ordered from them before but trust me I will be ordering from them again! Super yummy bread was not soggy and the club looked amazing!
