We went here last night and decided to never go again! The clam chowder is always watered down ! The baked potatoes are so overcooked they lacked flavor! My husband says the food is generic & tasting like it. Maybe they got it at Stater Bro's in the frozen section. VERY EXPENSIVE for fish & chips $25 ‼ I live in La Verne & used to love this place but now it's not up to standard anymore!

We went there on March 4, 2024 to get their $16.99 Monday special for fried chicken. Prices were apparently raised a couple weeks ago in February. The Monday "Special" fried chicken dinner was raised to $18.99. After checking other prices on the menu for meals my wife and I have had in the past, it seems their prices were raised about 12%. The wage for fast food workers (MacDonald's, Burger King, etc.) was raised to $20.00 per hour beginning this April 2024. Waiters and waitresses in businesses such as Tenderloin may be paid up to $16.00 per hour under certain conditions governed by the State, but are not entitled to the increase fast food workers will receive. This is my understanding of the new wage law. So why a 12% price increase in food prices for the Tenderloin? It seems excessive. The quality of the food, and the portion size was less than in the past, (Small chicken pieces and very small baked potato) and the quality was just not there. Chicken was tough and overcooked, and as I mentioned the Potato was very small. There is no senior discount at the Tenderloin, and the specials, in the past, were the prices we could work into our budgets as seniors. We will NOT be returning to the Tenderloin anytime soon (like never) because of the reasons listed above.Garry

This place reminded me of a place we use to go to years ago before it closed called Steer n Ale in Pasadena. Some of the plates have the same names and the steaks taste the same. Steer n Ale was the place my family celebrated many birthday.
Our family have coming to The Tenderloin in La Verne for decades. We recently pulled up to their long time location and were sad to see that it was completely closed down. ? As we were leaving we noticed that they had merely changed locations in the same shopping center. ? The interior is now updated but with the old feel that we were used to. We had a great lunch and I was happy to see that the “Small but Mighty” steak option was still available. Ordered it medium and it came out perfect. The Friday clam chowder was also delicious. Happy to see that The Tenderloin is still around and serving the same good quality food.
Really good price for a tasty steak. Friendly service, kinda a fun vibe. I liked the ribs and the tenderloin. Steak was cooked very nicely.

Last three visits have been disappointing with regard to the food. Last time around my steak was about as thick as a piece of shoe leather, and I paid for a 16 oz steak. Kinda done with this place.
