Very nice lunch on the patio for 16 people after a tour of the FLW house in Orinda. Weather was perfect on the pation. Service was phenomenal, attentive, fast, and friendly. Menu was very extensive with many options for our party.

The brussel sprouts were quite good. The peach bruschetta was very doughy. Description had blue cheese as part of the dish but it was very sparsely added. The eggs Benedict were good but the Thai chicken salad was very bland. Dressing was very light- almost tasteless. We sat outside and it was a very nice environment. Our waiter was very nice and attentive: we'd go back but I'd look through others' reviews to see which dishes were rated higher.

Food is great. Peach bruschetta, a seasonal starter, was perfect to split; but the toast was slightly burned at edges. Nice and interesting wine by the glass selection. Burger was excellent, and really crispy but not greasy fries. Also enjoyed pan seared perfectly cooked sole with risotto. Both excellent if a little under seasoned. Ask for lemon.

First time at Metro, we started in the Bar, excellent service great drinks and lively. We then moved to dinner in the dining room and had a great meal, my wife and I had the mushroom pasta, and the other couple had fish dishes. all were extremely tasty, and the pasta was really rich. We finished with different desserts and overall enjoyed the food and the service. the only recommendation I could give the hotel is when you enter from the street, the landscaping and litter really needs some cleaning up. We later discovered a door from the parking lot side (bar) but didn't see it because of some trash bins nearby.

Not one person in our party liked their food.

The food at Metro is consistently excellent. The service is also very good. If you enjoy oysters, this is one of the best places to get good ones!! Look forward to our next visit to Metro

This was a special birthday dinner for my husband. With us were our two kids and grandchild. The high chair awaited us and Noe was all prepared with a candle for dessert. When our grandson got a little antsy, the server helper (don't know his name) quietly came over and asked if we wanted him to see if they have any toys or books. The kids said a big Yes, and he arrived with some wonderful options, truly an unexpected service. Overall dinner was terrific and Noe's service was top notch (and what a memory for our special requests he has)! Thanks for a wonderful evening!

Unfortunately this time Metro was a disaster bad choice for the evening that we dined there. The restaurant had booked a very large and very noisy cocktail hour party for a local Lafayette organization. The large group was standing in the side dining room and overflowing out onto the patio, taking up almost half the dining tables space. We were seated in the patio, and were told that the group party would be leaving in 20 minutes. We decided to stay, but the group did not disband for another hour or so. The loud voices from the party made it impossible for our table of 4 to have any conversation. Metro should have required the group party's organization to book the entire restaurant. Not sure if we will return to dine at Metro after this type of abuse.

The food was very poorly executed. I ordered gnocchi, but it was so unrecognizable that I couldn't tell what I was eating. The sauce was a confusing mix of ingredients with no distinct flavor. For dessert, we had lemon pie, which was even worse. It seemed like it had been frozen, with a very moist, unpleasant texture at the bottom and a hard top. I definitely won't be coming back anytime soon.

I love this restaurant and it is always consistent as far as quality of the food but my only complaint is the miserly wine pours. Small glass to begin with and really short pour. Not good value but everything else was excellent. Our waitress, not the friendliest but super attentive which we appreciated greatly. Love the outdoor tables and serene vibe. Will definitely come back but might have to ask the manager about the lousy wine pours!

Overall still one of our favorite spots. The Butterscotch Pot de Creme is NOT to be missed! Never tasted anything so good. Wish their Cosmopolitan's were better. Can't explain it but not as good as we've had elsewhere. The "Three Day Chicken" was more than enough for an entree and the Corn Soup was VERY tasty. But we go there for the dessert!!!

Maybe it was just because it was Monday. I dine often at The Metro. This day I was with 4 of girl friends. Two of us ordered the steak salad. My girl friends salad's steak was lean and looked wonderful. My steak looked like the fat trimmings from my friends steak. I ate the salad but not the glob of fat that came with it. When I pointed out to our food server that this was fat he asked if I wanted to order something else. By this time everyone had finished their lunches. I asked for a take out order of the Poke Appetizer with alvacado for my husband. I came straight home after receiving the order and when my husband opened and tasted the Poke it wasn't very tasty and appeared to be old. He did not eat it.

Metro's patio is a gem & the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch. Our group enjoyed the crab salad which was so delectably fresh & brimming with crab. The chopped summer vegetable salad was also a favorite & the blackberry infused cocktail the perfect compliment to the summer theme. Metro consistently strives to make every dining experience special and their experienced staff is attentive to all their guest's needs. Thank you Jack & Erika!

First time we have eaten in the patio area. Disappointing - teak tables have not been maintained properly. Tables and chairs were wobbly and badly weathered. Typically we love their Poke but it was tasteless to the point we had to drown it in salt and pepper. Not a great start. The crispy duck eggrolls were outstanding, especially so. I had the swordfish with fries and it was delicious. Myvwife had the Steak Fritte and the steak was tough and again needed heavy salt. Banana Foster Pudding was delicious. Very mixed experience which question my desire to go again. Too bad it used to be a great place.

The beet salad and muscles appetizer combination for lunch was ideal for a filling meal. The beet salad was plentiful but it looked like it might have been made a few hours earlier than our noon lunch. The muscles could not have been better. The white wine and garlic sauce (I think) was perfect. The staff was professional. It helped my blind friend feel more comfortable with a better chair. The staff was attentive and personable before, during and after our lunch. The lunch prices aren't a bargain. The restaurant is in a high-class area. Still, I think the prices are a few dollars too high. Overall, it's a quality restaurant with a great staff.
