Below average food, very expensive for the quality of food, long wait for dishes to arrive. If you know a little about cooking, you’d be disappointed on how bad the food is made.

The food is below average.
We ordered medium well burger and we got overcooked burger. They also added melted butter on top of Schnitzel without asking us.

Date night dinner with the bf. Had high hopes for the food based on description but it was just ok. Miso broth was a bit too salty, fish batter was a little too thick but the truffle fries were tasty. Fireplace room was very cool but there were large groups in there that made it very difficult to have a conversation across the table. Despite the food and difficulty to talk, our service was great.

It was a little too warm. Especially when the heat kicked on. 6:00 dinner rez and they were sold out of the gnocchi. 54 of 5 of us wanted this.

Great service and very comfortable setting for a conversation without hearing or being heard by others. Food was what we remembered from previous visits that were more than a year ago. We will be back soon!

Nice restaurant, great server but it was so loud we couldn't hear each other or the server.

Metro has been one of my favorite places for the past two decades. I truly love it and have enjoyed watching it grow over the years.

Long wait for drinks and a few incorrect plates were delivered to the table. Overall, okay

Service was great. Biscuits were yummy. The salads were wet and poorly seasoned. My side of chicken was so overcooked that it was hard to slice.

I've been to Metro at least 3x over the years while in the Bay Area. This visit, I was surprisingly and sadly disappointed. I will not return. The service was cold and indifferent, the wait for food was at least 20 minutes; burger was overcooked; salad was just lettuce, a light wave of blue cheese and with barely any goat cheese; the Ginger Chicken Salad was dry and void of any personality, and the ambiance was dated. I really wanted this experience to be better because I was taking my elderly parents out for a special day and my 90 year old Dad was really hoping for a juicy, medium-rare burger. He wouldn't even send it back because the wait was so long. Aside from the very rich, but not too sweet chocolate terrine (served in a very uninspiring way), I cannot recommend the food. Waitstaff: Your service makes a difference. Please smile at clients and try to exclude warmth. You may not love your job or there may be personal issues, but please know that your patrons see you as part of the entire experience. I know that the restaurant industry is really challenging these days. But, for the amount I paid for a meal for 3 ($188 including tip), and with no alcohol, I expected a much better. It feels as though Metro is resting on a reputation they no longer deserve.

The sole and mashed potatoes is always an excellent dish. Two of us had fish tacos which were good but could have used more cilantro? The eggs Benedict were appreciated. It is such a nice experience to come into the restaurant and be greeted by smiling people. It began what was a really great experience.

The oysters were marv, the paella very good , the black cod was perfection. The staff were friendly and efficient. Overall, a fine dinner. Thanks.

I had some of the best food here. We had a fixed menu because we were there for a large party. The grits and prawns were awesome. Who knew grits could have so much flavor. My wife had a carrot soup that we loved! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and delicious but the big surprise was the unassuming potatoes. I do not know what they were cooked in but each one bite of diced potato was a treat. Lastly I am not a fan of pumpkin pie but I love cheesecake. They had pumpkin cheesecake so I tried it. OH MY! Sooooo gooood. Everything was great including our service. The Old fashioned was a yummy cocktail too.

Had a Christmas lunch here with family and friends and they were excellent! The food was so tasty and the service was fast! The crispy chicken sandwich was AMAZING and so was the apple slaw that came on top. An unlikely combination that proved to be wonderfully tasty! The vanilla gelato was greatly appreciated too! Overall great place to go for events and special occasions! FYI a bit pricey but food quality match’s price nicely. Definitely a good Lafayette spot to visit.
