Take a step from the strip mall parking lot through a gate to French enchantment! This little bistro is delightful in every way.
A true gem in the neighborhood! The food and drinks are excellent. Between my husband and I, we had a chicken mousse, escargot, a nectarine salad, gazpacho (with a hint of strawberry, which was lovely!), veal with some delectable mushrooms, duck, and a fig tart — all were just perfect! The bartender paired everything just right with a mix of cocktails and wine. I can't wait to return!
Very special food from start to finish! We were celebrating a special anniversary this evening, and we were given a card signed by the entire staff---a very nice touch. We had the sole and risotto along with an order of fries (which are world class). For dessert, we had the French Opera cake, which was simply amazing. The wait staff was friendly, informed and personable. I'm just lucky that this little restaurant is a 5 minute drive from my home. What a gem to have in Lafayette!
If enjoy true French food this the place. We had the chefs pate to start. My friend enjoyed the mussels and I the steak frites it was all delicious. I can't wait to go back. It's a little pricey but we went on a Tuesday and Reve offers $10 corkage. Little savings there.
Our Wednesday early evening dinner for 6 was very nice; celebrating a birthday as well as a finishing up of a radiation course treatment. The wonderful touch was that these celebrations were acknowledged by special cards left on the table. What a unique detailto thisr visit. Thank you. Another mention is that gratuity was already included in the bill for 6/more persons. When we added the extra amount, we were specially alerted of this inclusion Now that is such unexpected behaviour. Their weekday "special" of BIB GOURMAND menu of 3 items makes for "value". Thank you again.
We sat outside under umbrellas and next to the garden. It was delightful and added to the French experience. Service was excellent. Two of us ordered the sole, one ordered the muscles and I ordered the chicken. We all had delicious meals. Although it's expensive, it was a treat to enjoy French cooking in a delightful atmosphere.
My husband and I agree that Reve is the most consistently excellent restaurant that we go to. We prefer the outdoor dining option even last night when it was warm it was pleasant in the shaded garden area. The food is absolutely scrumptious. I ordered escargot, heirloom, tomato, salad, and gazpacho all of which was wonderful. I deviated for my usual Coque au vin which I also love. My husband had the soulman year which he said was perfect and we had a fig tart for dessert in True French tradition. The pastry is fabulous and it's not overly sweet. I had a glass of delicious sparkling Pinot because it was chilled. My husband and I agree this is our favorite restaurant in the Bay Area. We went to France earlier in the year and this dinner was like a tiny trip to France. Magnifique.
We had a very good experience at Reve. We were warmly greeted by the hostesses and seated at a shady outdoor table. The staff was very attentive. They brought chilled tap water in a bottle that we could keep at the table. The waitress explained the specials which sounded very tasty. The menu has a nice variety of dishes. We had the olives, nectarine and chèvre salad, and the fillet of sole. The salad was a mix of greens with a very small slice of chèvre. Nectarines were delicious! The fish with mushroom was very tasty as was the zucchini vegetable side dish and mashed potatoes. Very good! There was a mix-up on the bill which was cleared up generously and quickly by the waitress.
Nice place. The staff and service were amazing. I expected a lot from the food from the other reviews I had read. I give the appetizers an 8 out of 10. I must have got the French onion soup on a bad night. I was disappointed. Not very much flavor. The ribeye was very good, and the dessert was the best. So I give the food a 7 out of 10.

Celebrated a weeknight birthday at Reve, superb meal and service as always! Arlene was our server and she was a joy! The inside seating is so nice and cozy. We look forward to our next time at Reve.

We celebrated a birthday and enjoyed the excellent customer service, very polite and friendly waiters and reception desk. We got the charcuterie board with rabbit rillette which was a really good choice, and paired it with excellent french wine. Coq au vin and veal roti were both average+ but we liked them enough to come back and tries other things next time. Creme brulée was 9/10 and very tasty. Overall positive review and we recommend this place absolutely!

Delicious food. Small (tiny), quaint restaurant with lovely/comfortable patio seating. Don’t let the small strip mall parking lot fool you.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Food was top notch, service was exceptional. We felt the element comfort of the family run vibes from the moment we walked in the door.
This was a very bad dining experience. Where do I start? The appetizers (charcuterie board, onion soup) were good, but not spectacular. It was downhill from there. First, our waiter left us sitting for over half an hour after we finished the appetizers. We had to ask several busboys to send him back to our table. My stepson and I ordered the hangar steak. I have never had such a bad steak - probably 1/3 of an inch thick and so gristly and fatty I could only eat a bit of it. My husband asked his son if he liked it - the son said he liked the parts that were edible! The desserts were not a wow - we had opera cake which was very mediocre. The service and food were nowhere near the level an expensive and high-end restaurant like this should be. We will never return.

Excellent attentive service and nice patio. Pricy, but were you expecting cheap French dining in downtown Lafayette??? The escargots and the Pâté en Croûte (not the regular pate), with a glass of wine was excellent. Oysters were large and delicious.
