One of my favorite places for breakfast or lunch. The owners are always friendly and service oriented. My favorite dishes are Joe's Special for breakfast and the extraordinary Loafers Chicken Salad for lunch. Ingredients are fresh and I always eat everything on the plate.

Maria and Ahmed cook only with natural and sustainable ingredients and the food tastes fresh and fantastic.
We usually get veggie omelettes, Joe’s Special scramble with Italian sausage, or Eggs Benedict on weekends. For lunch, chicken pesto sandwich, and chicken salad - either as a sandwich or on a green salad with the raspberry dressing. All are so tasty! Always get the breakfast potatoes, even if having lunch - they are so yummy and crisp without being greasy.
The baked goods are excellent - we’ve taken multiple loaves of bread home and are never disappointed.
Maria and Ahmed are so welcoming and warm and we always feel like family when we go there to have a meal. We now live about 45 minutes from Lafayette but we take every opportunity to stop by for a meal if we’re even somewhat close. This is one of our favorite places in Lamorinda!!!
Dietary restrictions: My girlfriend has multiple food allergies and they are very accommodating. Since they make everything from scratch, they know exactly what’s in every dish and in all the baked goods.

Screw the negative reviews, about how the place is needed an upgrade and they only take cash for some stuff.
-When we came in, we were greeted, and felt comfortable in the restaraunt.
-The atmosphere and vibe is so old school and we love it. If felt like an escape from the fast paced and technology of today generations, which some folks will not understand.
-The food was amazing in our opinion, everything is organic and the breads were made in their little cafe. What surprise me the most, is when eating their food, I did not feel bloated like the other restaurants we've been to.
-Price of the food is reasonable. They do take card payment, but prefer cash.
-we definitly will come back, and please support you local businesses.

A hidden gem in Lafayette. Something about mom and pop food is just more thought out and not focused on margins. Maria and her Husband even grow some of the foods themselves. We think they have the best savory crepes anywhere.

Just enjoy a delicious lunch on the outside patio of this modest little cafe & bakery, tucked away right next to the Lafayette post office. My friend and I split two sandwiches; pastrami on rye and the chicken and vegetable melt. Both were absolutely delicious. Charming owners who believe in sustainability... I believe all of their food is organic and I highly recommend checking it out.

If you weren't lokojng for it, you would likely miss it. It's neatly tucked in the corner of a shopping complex but do not let the size fool you. Small, quaint, great food, and the service in my honest opinion punches well above it's weight.
It was moderately busy when I came in but, they made me feel very welcome and attended to. What I had was the bacon and avocado burger on some sort of garlic bread(the name escapes me at the moment) priced nicely, not cheap but not so expensive you feel like you've been taken advantage of.

I had high expectations after reading the reviews but I am totally disappointed.
It’s an old and dated restaurant which needs major upgrades. You have to go through the kitchen to use the restroom. All that did not bother me.
I was disappointed with the food.
$14.95 for a breakfast items. But who charges $3 for a piece of toast? I am sorry what? A toast is always included in the breakfast. An ordinary bread, nothing special too.
Then to make matters worse, they will also charge $3 for splitting the plate? Seriously?
You can tell that they are using cheaper quality ingredients because it reflected in the taste. Very bland and ordinary.
The pancakes had lumps of flour in it. Their freshly baked bread tasted dry and flavorless.
They prefer cash instead of card. Someone wanted to order 2 coffees but the lady refused him card payment. I mean in this day and age a restaurant wants cash doesn’t sit very well.
Clearly it’s a mom and pop restaurant. The gentleman cooks and the lady does everything else. And the reviews are probably by their old customers who also don’t like change just like them.
I feel bad writing this review but unfortunately it’s the truth.
Sorry won’t be returning.

We didn’t get to taste the food, otherwise I’d be honest there!Poor hospitality !The old lady that works there ( she may be the owner too) is the rudest person, we only asked about some menu options and she kept repeating: “ if you read , everything is in the menu”.. rudely! she couldn’t be more rude even after we respectfully pointed to her rude and aggressive way of talking to us with, she couldn’t apologize, and refused to serve us. Hopefully this wasn’t because of our ethnicity! Because if it was, I think they should just state it outside by their door, we could save ourselves time, and avoid some poisonous negativity! No madame: we don’t just get offended! You are rude! If you haven’t repeated “ everything is written in the menu “ rudely three time or more!, you are the one who seemed to be bothered and offended whenever we ask you questions! You should take a class or two to learn hospitality, you need it, as I noticed we’re not the only ones complaining about your rudeness. We’re not Middle Eastern, we didn’t get bothered when you sent your husband to serve us, you refused to serve us and sent your husband after murmuring madly something !! And you did not apologize.Good luck!

Went to have breakfast with my Father and were greeted by a wonderful lady who happens to own the establishment. Great food, fresh ingredients. They bake bread and pastries in house. Very wonderful family owned business in the heart of Lafayette.
Their bread is the best. No additives or gimmicks, just pure fresh baked bread.
