Asked if Pesto on the bread had walnuts or any nuts. They said pine nuts, so I took a bite. Another waiter comes running and said it had walnuts so I spit it out. Very allergic to walnuts. Replaced meal, no apologies. Skimpy portion that was over cooked. All the seafood had shrunk.
My go to restaurant in the East Bay Also tried their new restaurant Tropa and that was also delicious!
Food was delicious, service was good. Lovely outdoor patio with so many cute dogs! We ordered the pulled pork silog---the pulled pork was delicious but the egg yolk on top of the rice was not runny. The garlic rice could use a little bit more garlic . I liked the chorizo breakfast tacos.Would go back for those.
Met up for lunch today and was really pleasantly surprised- great service, good food, lovely ambiance. Our server, Carol, was warm and friendly, attentive but not hovering, checking in and being helpful throughout our meal. I had the BLT/ABC with a side salad and my friend had the Nicoise Salmon Salad- the food came out quickly, generous portions nicely plated, and everything was very good. Easy parking (lot with meters) across the street. A nice place to meet a friend or client for lunch in Lafayette.
Went for brunch with a reservation for 7 and ended up waiting more than 25 min for a table and had to fight with the hostess to finally get seated. Food was fine, nothing special or noteworthy. The spicy maple syrup with the chicken and waffles was yuck-just spicy and no flavor. Our server Courtney was the saving grace-super attentive and delightful. Will probably not return for a while.
We found the ambience pleasant, however the noise level was extremely loud, perhaps because of the large room design. We waited 45 minutes from the time of seating until we received our meals, which were delicious and quite satisfactory servings. Having some hearing difficulties at our ages, this would not be a restaurant we would return to, since it does not appear to have a quiet spot to be seated, other than outside perhaps.
Food is always outstanding They make sure it's perfect before it goes out. The staff are always checking if you have or need anything. I am never disappointed when u come. And when I bring family or friends they enjoy and it becomes their place too.
Food was marginal and not worth the $200 for 2 people. Plates were chipped. Knives were dull. Prices seemed far above typical costs for similar meal.
We've been to The Hideout Kitchen at their old location but this one in Lafayette is bigger, airier and more impressive. Service by Kevin was outstanding. Food is good with servings large enough too take home as another meal. Overall it's a good place to celebrate an event.
The food and ambiance was amazing as usual. The server (JP) was attentive and personable. Shout out to the owner (JB) for ensuring that my family enjoyed themselves and celebrated my Mom for her birthday.

Always a great place for our group to gather for lunch. Someone always orders the sweet potato fries to share. The Nicoise with salmon was a welcome twist. I can always find something gluten free and manage to avoid dairy. We enjoy eating outside when the weather is right and appreciate being able to hear each other inside. We'll be back!
We ordered the steak frites (came over cooked) and the short ribs (delicious but way too many ribs). The dessert was still frozen inside - obviously not house made. Service was a tad slow with the restaurant fairly empty. Outside patio was lovely.
Glad we had reservations the place got busy even on a Monday. The food we had was great. Unexpected twists and flavors for what might seem like boring menu items (like a grilled cheese). We also liked that you could pick from a wide variety of items from breakfast to lunch so that there's something for everyone. It is a good problem to have when you have to make a decision about what to order because everything looks great. Really good service too!
Daniel our server is topnotch but there's a short guy who was so grumpy, i just asked for favor to take us a picture and he just passed it in to the other young looking curly hair server with a black tattoo in his arm, this young guy is not the problem but the other server who told him to take us a picture, grumpy man, no smile, seems unhappy with his job.
Very crowded on Sunday. We did have a reservation so we were seated fairly quickly. We waited a very long time for our server to take our order (he never checked in to say hello or let us know he will be there shortly). Two of us ordered the Harvest Fritatta. It was not tasty and lacked flavor. The toast and fruit were good. Server never checked in to see how we liked the food or if we needed anything else.
