The Lumberyard is a very impressive restaurant. We visit Laguna Beach often and have never been to this place right off PCH. The food was excellent, and the drinks were inventive and delectable! The service and atmosphere were inviting. We will definitely return soon!

I have some health issues that prevent me from eating a large meal. My husband and I made a reservation for The Lumberyard because we didn't want a large meal on Thanksgiving Day. When I made the reservation, there was no indication that the only menu available that day would be a three course $85 prix fixe thanksgiving dinner.We only discovered this after ordering wine. After deciding to leave, we spoke with our server, who was very unsympathetic. She made no apology for the lack of information on the website and seemed very 'put out.' Her manner was not empathetic to our needs—of course, she was losing the 20% tip that was automatically added to every meal. We chose The Lumberyard because it had excellent reviews, but due to the lack of transparency in the booking process and empathy from our server, we will not be going back to sample the food.

I came on the recommendation of a friend who said they had the best hamburgers in town. I ordered the hamburger and I have to agree! The meat is cooked to order. You have your choice of what you want on your burger. In my case, no cheese but avocado instead. And you have your choice of side dishes including french fries, sweet potato fries, and a couple other options I don't recall.
It was a pleasant place to have lunch and I will return 😄

Food was good. We started with a wedge salad that we split as the portion is quite substantial. I had the chicken pasta with the vodka sauce. Flavor was good but I wish they would have mentioned that it was spicy. It looked as if the chicken was blackened. My husband had the Pasta Bolognese and it was spicy as well but he loved it. His stomach is stronger than mine. For dessert we had the apple cobbler with ice cream and it was terrific.
We ate the chicken pot pie, very good sized portion and really good flavor. A little different than a typical pot pie. The meatloaf was huge, on top of mashed potatoes, both covered in a demiglaze that some were not excited about because of it being on the sweet side. Also could have used a side veggie. We got corn bread for appetizer and it was fantastic.

Always busy before a Laguna Playhouse show. Lively. Had Cobb salad, hamachi crudo, clam chowder and a beet salad. All were excellent.
I always enjoy going to the lumberyard and eating there. Their food is exquisite. I love the atmosphere. I love the people Carrie make sure everyone is taken care of and the food is perfect. My Server Jose was wonderful. I introduced people to the lumberyard all the time.

Came with friends ordered a dish and added shrimp at $3 dollars a piece they burned all of them, had been there several times before. Called the waiter, he didn't even take it off the bill. Haven't been back since.

We found this restaurant to be everything you want! Good food and service with great atmosphere. My wife and I enjoyed their happy hour. The waiter served us good well done drinks and the wings were delicious. Easily 5 stars.
