The food and service were terrific. I had the sole and the taste was amazing. My Finnish grandmother in Minnesota fried her freshly caught walleyed pike in lots of butter and there wasn't a more heavenly aroma or taste to be found. I haven't had fish that tasted like that since 1965, until Friday night 3/8/24. The farro that the fish was served on top of was excellent. The ambience reminds me of restaurants in Nevada City CA -- rustic, woodsy and salt of the earth. I highly recommend this restaurant for the quality of the food, the service, and the ambience.

Our entire meal was scrumptious. We enjoyed the Restaurant Week menu with the sole and salmon that was prepared just as the sole. Our salads were great and Eric was very attentive, kind, and professional.
We were there quite early- they'd just opened- and we were welcomed quite graciously- my first time there so the server gave us great insight to the menu and the food was incredible- could not have asked for more! The best experience!
Had a delicious dinner with several friends. The food was outstanding. The band played so loudly that it was hard to hold a conversation. I'll love going back when there's not live music.

My boyfriend and I had Valentine's dinner at our favorite local spot, The Lumberyard and it was excellent! We ordered two appetizers- the corn bread and the zucchini - both were really good. I ordered the sea bass and my boyfriend ordered the filet which were excellent! Cooked and seasoned to perfection, pretty plating and great portions. I ordered the Mumm rosé sparking wine and it was filled to the brim - no skimping of weak pours here! Our waitress and all the servers were awesome, super attentive, very friendly and quick. It was a great evening filled with a local musician playing in the bar and the sound was on point - not too loud. We will absolutely be returning to The Lumberyard soon, truly a great experience!!
Delicious salads...I had beet salad with chicken and my husband had the cobb salad. We started with the zucchini planks. They were good however oily and soggy...yet we at them all.

The food is consistently good with large portions. We like the location for its proximity to the Laguna Playhouse and Festival of the Arts. It is a lively restaurant and therefore may be too loud for some patrons. Quiet conversation would be difficult when they are busy and we've never been there when it was not!

The other 3 at our table loved rheir entrees - chicken pot pie and beef stroganoff. I had the sea bass and found it overcooked and dry. I didn't like the vegetables strewn randomly into the risotto. It was one of the most expensive entrees, so I expected better. We love The Lumberyard and will certainly go back - I'll just choose a different entree. The service was excellent, and the ambiance warm and inviting.

Nice, cozy spot with good upscale pub staples. Seems to be a local favourite, there were a ton of people eating there who were clearly regulars. Always a good sign!

First time visiting Lumberyard and I'd go back again and again! Went for lunch with my bestie for her birthday and we loved everything. We shared a grilled artichoke, fried zucchini, French dip sandwich, fried chicken sandwich and the skillet cookie à la mode for dessert. Everything was delicious, BEST fried chicken sandwich we've ever had. French dip was maybe a little more fatty than we'd have liked but still very tasty. I generally avoid Laguna Beach during the busy summer tourist season, but on a lovely Monday in January the traffic was minimal and parking was a breeze. Restaurant wasn't very busy as it was a late lunch; our server was great and we liked the booth seating. We both enjoyed our first time dining here and look forward to going again!
