Always consistently good. The Bistro Special is always spot on perfect! They have no fault over very noisy and loud diners next to us that wasn't appealing but that's just mindless people not the restaurant. This is our local gem

It was okay. We had a reservation, a table was ready, yet were told the table was not for us. There was no space to wait and were asked to wait outside. We stayed inside as it was cold. After a few minutes we were told to take the empty table afterall. The music was loud and we couldn't hear each other. After a few songs the volume was turned down and the ambiance improved. The food was good but the waiter was just ok. Luckily we were in great company so we had a wonderful time!

I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was so upsetting that I feel obligated to warn others.
My brother went in tonight in simply asking for change for a $100 after purchasing a coke (we needed to break the bill to get gelato)— and was treated with immediate suspicion and disrespect. The employee/manager (male with a dress shirt at the bar) tested the bill with a counterfeit pen, which passed, yet continued to insist something was “off,” claiming the numbers looked wrong. He later admitted he “made a mistake,” but by that point the damage was done. The way this was handled felt demeaning, accusatory, and completely inappropriate. My brother — who was the only person of color present was to feel singled out and judged in a way that was deeply uncomfortable. We live in Irvine, my brother is a software engineer, and i am a RN and have never been treated this way; we go to Nicks in Newport often, and we rarely visit South County and after this experience, I never will again.
What made this worse was the lack of professionalism or accountability. Instead of calmly declining to break the bill or returning it respectfully, the situation escalated unnecessarily and left us feeling embarrassed and profiled saying he won’t be returning the bill until we threatened to call the police .

The Fried Chicken and Gravy Mashed is legendary for a reason. Perfect crunch, rich gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, and zero restraint. There is never a bad time for Fried Chicken and Gravy Mashed, and this dish alone earns repeat visits.

I really enjoyed my time at Nick's Laguna Beach. The atmosphere is perfect for a casual dinner with friends. I had the burger, and it was juicy and full of flavor. The only downside was that the service was a bit slower than expected, but overall a good experience.

I came on World Series final day and had no idea....wanted a seat at the bar for dinner and managed to snatch the last one! Fancied a steak and that's what I got with a glass of wine, finished up with an espresso and enjoyed the energy alongs side my meal. Perfect place to eat alone!
